We have a 2 year old and 4 year old boy. We will be going to Disney World for the boys FIRST time. :earsboy: We will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge and getting the including meal plan (1 snack, 1 quick, 1 table).

I LOVE good quality food. The boys would like to meet a few characters. We don't like spicy food. And don't want to go anywhere stuffy or where the kids have to be SUPER quiet.

So if you had 6 full days at Disney where would you eat?

We plan to hit all 4 parks during our trip.

Please share a mix of quick service/counter and table meals?

THANK YOU SO MUCH!:) :thumbsup2

I am also going in Sept. The wave has very good food. I don't think it's stuffy. Some of the other plans I have is Chef Mickey, Crystal Palace. I have eaten at Coral Reef and that is fun for the kids. They have one whole side the Aquarium. Tuskier house in Animal Kingdom is also fun. Hope this helps.

We like to start our week with dinner at Beirgarden.
Some of our other favorites for dinner include Jiko, Flying Fish, Le Cellier and California Grill.
Lunch Spots that we like include Saratoga Springs, Irish Pub (Quick Service Section -Downtown Disney) and WolfGang Puck (Quick Service).
We also always do the Fantasmic Package to get the reserved seating for Fantasmic. We ususally go to Mama Melrose for that one.

For your children I would say 'Ohana character breakfast and H & V character meal, these two places aren't so girlie.

Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's, Tusker House breakfast and Ohana's breakfast.

For some quick service places I really liked Peco Bill's, Cosmic Ray's, Sunshine Seasons, Flame Tree and Toy Story Pizza Planet.

Since you are staying at WL, you have to do whispering canyon for breakfast.:thumbsup2 Make sure to ask for ketchup.:rotfl2:

Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's for breakfast (Pooh and friends at CP and Mickey and friends at CM). With boys, I would also suggest Sci-Fi or 50's Prime Time at the Studios, Biergarten in Germany at Epcot. We love The Plaza at the MK for a nice change of pace from all the "big meals" by just having a nice sandwich followed by yummy dessert. I'm not sure if you or your family are fussy, but we found Yak & Yeti to be very good at the AK. I would recommend Whispering Canyon Cafe since you said you didn't want anywhere where the boys had to be too quiet...you definitely don't have to be quiet here. HOWEVER, we found the food mediocre at best and my DH actually got sick on it (you might want to try it for breakfast instead).

We're going to be there around the same time and also staying at the WL and we will be taking our son who is 2. Here are the ADR's I'm planning to make.

Biergarten
Raglan Road
Tutto Italia
Ohana
Whispering Canyon
Tusker House - breakfast
Crystal Palace - breakfast

We have a 3 and 1/2 year old daughter. We and SHE enjoys Whispering Canyon Cafe, Coral Reef, Crystal Palace, and Rose and Crown Pub. We also enjoy Ragland Road in DTD. It is really loud though... which can be good and bad.

Your qualifier of quality food knocks a few places of the list, IMHO:

I've never quite heard WCC described as quality food. Fun, comfort food, filling, but not super delicious or high quality.

A few TS places I'd suggest:
1. Crystal Palace for food if you boys are fine with meeting Tigger, Pooh and friends.

2. Coral Reef, we loved our food there and the full wall aquarium is usually a hit with the young ones.

3. Boma for breakfast, not as exotic as dinner but an excellent meal.

4. Chef de France for lunch for the chance to meet Remy from Ratatouille.

5. The Plaza on Main Street, really simple and laid back, but from all accounts pretty good quality.

6. We enjoyed breakfast at Chef Mickey's, seems in general people are happier with the breakfast food than dinner. We will have dinner there next trip. Fantastic characters and interaction.

CS -

Take a look at the Pepper Market at Coronado Springs resort. It is a CS, but can "eat like a TS". My meal there was good, not great, but I'll return to try something else next trip, lots of options. I thought the child selections here offered nice variety. I was child free during my visit there.

We loved our Basil Mozzerella sandwich and carrot cake at the Main Street Bakery, would not hesitate to do that again (and again, and again). You will find even more decadent dessert options. Our then 5yo was exceedingly happy with his Uncrustable PB&J. :confused3 This is also one of those CS places w/o a child menu so your boys can order the same kind of items you order.

Though it was closed each time we wanted to dine there Columbia Harbor House in MK gets good comments.

In Epcot just try something in the World Showcase, you'll find lots a wonderful CS options there.

BTW we'll be in the world Sept. 2-7th, so please leave us some ADRs. ;)

Truthfully I wouldn't call any of it really super good quality. Fine, filling. Not terrible, someone in the range of pretty good. They feed so very many people in one day I am not sure it would be reasonable to expect it to be top shelf. You will find totally different opinions - the same restaurant someone loves, someone else hates. Anyway we have liked most of what we have had. Going in late Sept and am planning the following (with DS6, DD4, DD2) Coral Reef (return visit - we really like it) good for kids to be able to look at the fish. CRT - we all liked this one (except maybe for my son, he thought it was a little girly but he really like the sword he got), Primetime, also a return visit, very fun. I am going to try Le Cellier (if we get in), Sci Fi. I am also considering Biergarten for the fun atmosphere, Whispering Canyon for the same reason and either Ohana or Askerhaus. We can't do character meals anymore (dd4 is terrified of them) but Tusker House was really nice. I am so sad we had to cancel Chef Mickey, Crystal Palace after we learned of her fear!

I'd recommend a lot of the same places others have already mentioned: 50's Prime Time, Crystal Palace (probably breakfast), Chef Mickey's (dinner). I'd go to WCC since you are staying there. I'd say lunch at Plaza or LTT, but it isn't a very good value for people on a dining plan. You can really bring your kids anywhere without having to worry about keeping them quiet. I'd probably stay away from signature restaurants.

I'm repeating some mentioned but:

-Whispering Canyon Cafe (WL): dinner family style
-Crystal Palace (MK): breakfast buffet with Pooh characters
-Chef Mickeys (CR): breakfast or dinner buffet classic Mickey characters
-50's Prime Time Cafe (DHS): lunch or dinner menu
-Biergarten (Epcot/Germany): dinner buffet with a fun live band
-Hoop De Doo Musical Revue (FW): fun family style dinner show
