Thought this was interesting. This is from the Gay Days website to purchase tickets.. If they can sell them here, why can't they sell them to everyone?

I was just at Disney, today was my last day of 7. I initially bought the 5 day park hopper then upon my arrival, prior to use, I went to the ticket booth and indicated I wanted to add additional days. They did so happily at 5.00 per day per person. No questions asked, no hassle whatsoever. In the end I made my 5 day park hopper into a 7 day for just 10$ more.

As someone faced with buying $1100 5-day PH for my family or $1876 APs if we can't upgrade our tickets (and who lost the chance for $900 8-day PHs), and who is booked at PPH, this is very hard to read. :sad1:
$732 for 6-day PHs (2 adults, 2 kids) would really make a difference in our budget at the parks.

Anyone know when those tickets would expire? I'm guessing the end of the year probably? I'd love to pick up a few to use for our trip in the spring, the thought of buying 4 kids PHs makes me want to cry at the new rate.

Was your 5 day a discounted ticket at all?

The Gay Day's tickets are only valid 10/3/12-10/16/12 for first day of use, and must be used within 14 days of first use.

So if I'm staying at the Grand Oct 3-9, I could buy tickets from the gay days website and use those, no problem?

Or if I'm staying at PPH from October 15 through 18 I could buy a 3 day PH using the Gay Days convention rate and they'd still be valid for use? I thought I read somewhere on that ticket page that the ticket's first day of use had to be within 3 days of the end of the convention -- did I misread? :confused3

ETA: Here is the language from the small print off the site:

Tickets include unlimited use of attractions (excluding arcades and midway games). The general public will be admitted. Parking not included. All of these tickets expire on the third day after the last day of the specified convention. Dates vary according to convention.

Gay Days Convention ends October 7th, so the ticket's first use would need to be by October 10th, correct?

This is terrific news vintageminnie. I'll be trying the same thing on Monday, and I'll be sure to post how it went. Hopefully they've got the add-a-day issues ironed out finally...
:rolleyes2

We have bought these for our October trip, which is during Gay Days. The tickets say they expire 13 days after 10/3/2012. So the tickets are only valid until the 16th, whether you have used all days or not.

Do you have to add the day(s) before your first use of the ticket? I'm planning to buy a 3-day hopper but may want to add a 4th day. Do I need to decide before I use the ticket or can I add a day at any time?

Were you successful at upgrading your pass? I have a 5 day and would like to have 6 days I am HOPING they will let me upgrade my tickets for $5

Gay Day's tickets are only valid 10/3/12-10/16/12. If you are there on the 2nd or the 17th you are out of luck.

But I do have a question. If we decide we want, say 7 days, can we upgrade the convention tickets to premier passes?
