We'll be arriving in Orlando on Oct. 1 and have 6-day park hopper passes for the whole family. Will these get us into everything regarding MNSSHP or is there an additional charge for the special events?

Your passes have NOTHING to do with the MNSSHP party. That is a special event that is held after the park closes. If you want to attend it, you must buy tickets to it.

Magic Kingdom will close at 6:00p party nights and if you don't have a ticket for it, they will escort you out of the park.

So I guess it would be best to attend MK on a night that they're not having MNSSHP unless we have the extra money to spend. Kinda seems like they penalize you for attending WDW in October unless they can get extra money out of you. If you go any other time, you get longer park hours. Is that correct?

Yes, you can go to MK on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday nights. It will stay open later on Saturday and Monday and maybe even an EMH on Wednesday, don't know for sure.

Yes, it's a bummer for those not attending the parties that MK closes early a few nights a week.

No, it's not necessarily true. Off season the parks close earlier anyway.

The dates for MNSSHP in 2005 are: September 30, October 2, 6, 7, 11, 13, 16, 20, 21, 23, 25, 27, 28, 30, 31. The MK will close at 6:00 PM on those days. The theme park hours for October should be out in August. You can then check the operating hours for the MK and determine which day will work for you.

Thanks for all the good info! Can you give me a brief list of abbreviations common to this site? EMH, etc.

No, they are not penalizing you for going in October, they are giving you something extra and different to go to - you just have to pay extra. ;) The MK is decorated in Halloween decor and there is a very different atmosphere to the park. The lighting is different, the castle is different, the parade & fireworks are different, and it's very festive. Ohhh, and who could forget the trick or treating and getting bags of candy (I'm talking the good stuff :teeth: )?! The parks tend to closer earlier beginning in the fall months anyway, this is an oppurtunity to stay later, just not for free. It used to be you were paying to attend with low crowds, but the party is getting more popular so some nights that isn't exactly the case. But you still get the atmosphere and the oppurtunity to see the MK in a new light - and don't forget the candy! ;) This is our fourth year to go in October and to go to the MNSSHP - we wouldn't miss it, it's worth paying extra. :cool1:
