6/7/11 - It's a double dip DREAM!

OK, so I'm now thinking about Country Inn Suites. Kinda nervous to try Priceline for it, though. There is a thread where people have got great deals.

I just had a thought... Does our five nighter have a formal night?!?

Welcome to all the newcomers!!!

If you guys would like to go ahead and send me your information, if you know it, I can start a list for the FE. (I need childrens ages, gender, and names, adults names, stateroom numbers and the State you are from). We can make a decision later depending on how many participate, etc. if we want to do everyone, just children, per stateroom, etc. I want to give everyone time to make handmade gifts; however, the number of participants and the room numbers will no doubt change as we get closer. It is so much fun....i have a countdown on my Android phone in a Mickey head that is counting til the day we hit the road a few days before the cruise and we are at 284!!

Kelly
Jason
DS Noah 8
DD Audrey 3

Don't know yet what room we're in.

Thanks LUV!

I just had a thought... Does our five nighter have a formal night?!?

DH & I were just discussing this earlier today. Does anyone know the answer? What special theme nights will we have, and what type of dinner clothes will we need to pack?

Hi to All - been a crazy few weeks with school starting back!

Our group will have 2 girls age 13 - so we will let them do the club but they will be together so I guess that makes it an easier decision.

I am looking forward to some of the first trip reports so we will know what to expect as far as formal nights, theme dinners and entertainment.

Hey everyone! Put me on the list to participate in the FE gift exchange.

Sherrie and DH, Bret.

We have participated in the past and loved it! :goodvibes There were about 14 families that participated on our trip this summer and we left the decision to each one whether or not they wanted to make a daily delivery or a one time delivery. Me personally, well, I'd rather make the one time delivery. Remember, the Dream is a bigger ship which means more walking and longer delivery times. Others might enjoy the daily walk and don't mind making the trek across the ship.

When my husband and I went on the 5 night cruise earlier this summer there was no formal night. They did have a semi-formal night but I noticed a few families who did not dress up for it. I believe if a semi formal night is offered again, I'll probably just leave the dressy stuff at home and be comfy in my cruise casual attire. ;)

I just booked this cruise on the Dream and simply can't wait!! This is the first Disney cruise for my family, and me and my husband's second cruise. My son will be turning 14 during the cruise and my daughter will be 10. My mom and dad will also be joining us (2 connecting rooms on Deck 9). So, 6 people in 2 rooms.

I've been reviewing the DIS boards for a long time to help me plan my WDW trips, and am having a blast learning about DCL. I've spent a lot of time learning about FE and am looking forward to participating. Quite a huge group, already!

My TA recommended the Radisson for our Monday night stay since they have free shuttles to the port. However, she said the Country Inn is also very nice and has free breakfast.

I look forward to getting to know everyone!

FYI - I just spoke with a Disney agent. She says the cruise is close to being sold out. According to her, the only cabins she saw available were some Cat. 4s and 5s. Of course, we all know how accurate it is when they say there's no more Cat. 9s - 12s available (or whatever the new categories are on the Dream)...

You are going to have so much fun!!!!!! This is our second cruise. We have a DD 11 and DS 9

WooHoo, we we're officially booked!:yay:

It'll be myself, DH, and DS 8 (his birthday is the 12th, so technically he'll leave the ship as a 9 yr old)

2nd cruise for me, the last was a DCL back in July '00. First cruise for the boys.

Really hoping DH loves it cause I am already thinking about planning another for Oct '12!;)

This is my first time planning our family vacation and I have been obsessed with Dis....In fact i'm at work now...sssshhhhh:rolleyes1

Is this way to early to look at pre-cruise hotels, airfare, and rental cars?!?!!?

Where is IL are you from? We are from Libertyville.

Any other people sailing with tweens?
4newtocruise, I really haven't found much info about The Edge, yet. I'm a little nervous to be honest. I wish my daughters were together. First cruise they were separated and it was really hard. Second cruise they were in the same group and it made things so much easier. This time my 13 year old will be in the new tween group. I think they pretty much come and go as they please and it looks small, I hope they have alot of activities going on in there. Do people feel safe letting their tweens walk around the boat all by themselves? I'm like Marlin from Nemo, totally overprotective. How did you communicate and find each other?

I don't think I would give my daughter access to the ship either. The only exception I would make is if there was someone on this board that she could buddy up with, maybe! I think they carry a pager so we can contact them but I can't be certain, this would be by daughters first in the Tween section.

DD Pat

Stateroom: 7560

We stayed at the Residence Inn last time we cruised. We liked it and it was close by. We are staying there again. Already booked it! :thumbsup2

We are thinking about driving. Has anyone ever driven there? Does anyone know if there is a parking lot to leave your car? :confused3

Do we have a running list of everyone on this thread? That might be helpful for kids to get to know other kids there age in advance?

Thanks!

We stayed at the Residence Inn last time we cruised. We liked it and it was close by. We are staying there again. Already booked it! :thumbsup2 We stayed at the Radisson last summer. The rooms were just ok. The shuttle was a nightmare! They had a bridal party there who needed the shuttle, too. This Diva Bride wouldn't ride with anyone so they had to make multiple trips just for her party which put all the cruisers behind. We finally got on the shuttle about 1.5 hours after our reserved time! Others said that has never happened before, it's always been just fine, etc... So, this year we're going to WDW for a couple days first. We've never been. Thinking about Coronado Springs. Anyone have any opinions?

We are thinking about driving. Has anyone ever driven there? Does anyone know if there is a parking lot to leave your car? :confused3 Haven't driven down but they have built a new parking garage. I don't know if it's fininshed yet. It will be by the time we go, though. It used to be $15 per day for the lot. I haven't heard anything about price for the garage.

Do we have a running list of everyone on this thread? That might be helpful for kids to get to know other kids there age in advance?

Thanks!

I wonder if the OP is still with us?? It would be great to have a list on the first page of everyone going. And the kids could always start their own page...
