Hello, a quick question if anyone can help me with this it would be great! :goodvibes
I have a ADR at Crystal Palace at 6:45pm on Nov. 30th which is a MVMCP night. I'm debating whether or not to go to the party but would they let me keep my ADR if I don't?
I'm wondering if they do let me keep it, will they ask me to exit the park as I leave the restaurant?
Thanks!

They should let you keep it. The same way as how you can make a reservation 5 minutes before the park closes on a normal night. However, in the party case it depends on when you leave CP. If the CMs are still out herding people out of the park, then they may just guide you in that direction. But if it is later, you may actually be escorted to the front of the park.

Im not sure if they will let you keep or not. I have made a ressie for an EMH night ( at park closing time exactly) and was told that the ressie was during EMH so I had to be a Disney resort guest to keep. You might "luck out" because your ressie time is still at the time for day guests to be in the park.

Hmm I wonder how early I should get there? If there is a time when they stop people in, before closing on a party night? I'll be at AK during the day but am looking forward to eat at CP plus getting a little extra MK time since the parade taping is messing my week up a bit. I will probably otherwise still jet lagged and may not be able to enjoy a party fully so I'm not sure.
Thanks for your replies :)!

I have done this. You will have no problems with your reservation. After dinner you will head toward the exit, and you may not be hurried along at all. CM are probably switching to parade duty, and not actively rounding up people who don't have tickets. I asked this same question before our trip and the answered I got had me prepared to be blindfolded and escorted out after dinner. That certainly wasn't the case for us.

We also did this last December. We had reservations at 6:40 at LTT. A CM did go through the restaurant right at 7 and ask everyone if they were staying for the MVMCP, we stated no. He was just keeping track of how many had the hard ticket and how many didn't. By the time we finished eating the parade was going right by so we stood and watched the whole thing. I will say that the weather played in our favor as it was freezing last year so they weren't even checking for wristbands...would have been silly to walk around and ask everyone to pull up the sleeves to check. We didn't try to go on any rides, but we did take our time and walked around and stayed for the fireworks. It was our last night and it was definitely magical :wizard:

Fyi, we did purchase the hard ticket on an earlier day during our trip and they didn't check for wristbands that day either...on rides or within the park.

I just reread your post and realized we are going on the same day (Nov 30), and we have late ADR's for 6:40 again, lol. It's our 1st night out of 10 so not a big deal if we see the parade/party again, but it's funny how that worked out again :rolleyes1

If you have dining in MK when any other party going on you can still keep those ADRS but if you do not have a wrist band then when your done eating CM will ask you to exit the park.:thumbsup2

If it's before 7 you can keep it, but if you don't have a wristband you should anticipate being asked to exit the park when you have departed the restaurant. If you buy a party ticket and get a party wristband, you can stay for the party.

Thank you everyone, at least I can rest easy regarding that! I haven't decided what to do yet though lol! Now I'm debating if I should go my last night which will be Dec. 4th instead. I had thought I could just do the Studios EMH night until 11pm but perhaps it will be super busy because of ...what's it called with all the teenagers? The ones we are supposed to avoid lol? :) Plus I could for once take it easy that morning, shop a little in DTD maybe, and then still have energy for the party :thumbsup2. That I think sounds like a plan! Watch it be the most crowded of all the parties now, would be just my luck!

westonkamom lucky you getting 10 nights, I used to take long trips too but now I can't be away as long. I'm definitely feeling it too, because the other night I realised how many different things I have to eat at Epcot :scared1:! I only have one day there :rotfl:. If you see a very happy solo woman in line at CP wave, that will be me!!

If you decide to go to the party do you want to waste your party time eating a sit-down meal.

I know everyone says that about MNSSHP so it might also apply to the Christmas Party, I'm not sure.

I'm pretty sure the party goes until midnight, and the restaurants close down early from what I remember....you can buy snacks, but I don't think there's any sit-downs open late and there's only a couple quick-service with actual meals at MK, and I sorta feel like they closed early too. My family always eats a sit-down dinner, cookies and hot chocolate aren't going to hold us over for the night. We always get our ADR's early enough that an hour or so out of five isn't going to make a huge difference. We usually get there around 5, go on a few rides, eat dinner, watch the parade, and go on more rides...works for us!

This happened to us in Oct. during the halloween party. We had late dinner res. at Crystal Palace. When we were done, we had to gather on the porch with others that did not have wristbands for the party, and then one of the CM's from CP escorted our "group" down mainstreet. Me and DH chatted her up and walked EXTREMELY SLOW, as all we wanted to do was be able to see the headless horseman gallop down mainstreet. Our strategy worked...got to see him. It was also noted that the others in our "escorted group" somehow disappeared along the way to the exit. I don't know how they expect these nice CM's to "herd" a dozen people down mainstreet to the exit when there is no room to move!!!! Plus the others seemed very uncooperative and hostile. Guess they wanted to hide in the shops and get to see the whole parade.

That being said, Disney knows way ahead of time what their schedule is, and dining reservations/times are tweaked. They really don't mind anyone sitting down at Crystal Palace for a meal when the park is closing for a special event. they just don't want guests sneaking out and trying to take advantage of stuff that others have paid a pretty penny for.

Like seeing the Headless Horseman?

Congrats on scaming the system - wow that is something to brag about. I love to hear about people that cheat like this - :headache:. We went to the last MVMCP in 2010 and it was colder and we all had coats, hats, and gloves. You could not see our wrist bands at all and no one ever checked but guess what I spent the $300 for my family to attend and we had our wrist bands on.

Posts like this are exactly why I stay almost exclusively on the Trip Report Boards. I came over here just to check a few things out for some upcoming ADRs. This post is downright hostile. I don't think the other poster did anything wrong.

The came into the park before the party on a paid ticket.

They paid to eat at a Disney restaurant.

They left at the end of their meal which happened to coincide with the time of the parade. They watched the parade. They watched the fireworks. They left.

No where in this post did it say they tried to go on any rides or participate in any party activities. They did not evade an escort to the front of the park.

They took their time and were able to partake in a few sights.

Honestly, I am sure that the Disney management takes this into account and if it were such an affront they would not allow it.

It really doesn't even come close to a scam.

going back to the trip reports now where it is safe!

I agree about the post being hostile but at the same if the reservation was at 6:40 and the fireworks are at 9:30pm, that is 1.5 hours of walking around...That is a huge time gap!!! That makes me feel bad for purchasing tickets wondering if I could too have got in for free?

MEK, Iagree to a point, but others (myself included) pay a lot of extra money to see the very things you mentioned - the parade and Hallowishes. It is annoying to see people working the system to enjoy party activities without paying. And it is worse when people advertise how they did it.

I agree with you. If someone has the nerve to post on how they worked the system and got to do for free what other people had to pay for, then they should expect to get a bit of hostility in return.

The parade and the fireworks are definately part of what you pay for when you pay for a party ticket. I think it is pretty sad that people are so quick to defend others when they knowingly do something wrong. It really explains the sad state of our world.

As far as them not checking when it is cold, you can't count on that either. I was at a Mvmcp this past December when it was freezing cold, and they repeatedly checked for wristbands. And kicked a few people out too. And good for them!

"hostile" poster here.

I hope my post did come across as hostile. That is exactly how I meant it to be. I find if very upsetting that someone "works" the system and than brags about it.

I understand having a late ADR and walking directly out (no problem with that) but spending 1.5+ hours at a party enjoying the parade, fireworks, and just walking around taking in the festive spirit (the snow on main street during MVMCP) is wrong.

I spend $300+ to attend a party. I bet prices would be cheaper if they did not have to cover all the scamers.

Shame on them
