6:45pm ADR but no MVMCP ticket?

As I was reading through this thread...I knew it would turn the other corner. We've paid to attend 3 MVMCP and 3 MNSSHP in the past 5 years. At MVMCP last year, we had ADRs at Cali Grill at 5:00 before the party...thought this would be no problem since it was NOT a sold out night and we'd been twice before. When we arrived at the party around 7:20...I was shocked by the crowd inside and wondered how this could be. We saw CMs checking wristbands even in the FREEZING cold...and escorting people out that had claimed spots for the fireworks and the parades. Unfortunately, people will always find a way to try to get around extra admission fees and enjoy the festivities, so I agree that this is Disney's problem...they could reduce this problem by allowing in-park ADRs for party attendees only after 5:00 -- I believe you can get your wristband as early as 4 or so. We would have loved to have dinner at CRT around 6 and then come down to the party at 7, but the closest we could get was CG. It would be a nice perk for party ticketholders to have reserved dinner ADR options in the park before the party. Of course, I'd love a midnight breakfast ADR in CRT after the party...but Disney doesn't seem to want to do this. :confused3

Now...if you want to see a hostile thread...go post some overbooked ADRs up for grabs on the Dining Reservation board! :rotfl2:

I agree with you. If someone has the nerve to post on how they worked the system and got to do for free what other people had to pay for, then they should expect to get a bit of hostility in return.

The parade and the fireworks are definately part of what you pay for when you pay for a party ticket. I think it is pretty sad that people are so quick to defend others when they knowingly do something wrong. It really explains the sad state of our world.

As far as them not checking when it is cold, you can't count on that either. I was at a Mvmcp this past December when it was freezing cold, and they repeatedly checked for wristbands. And kicked a few people out too. And good for them!

Wholeheartedly agree! We were probably at the same party...the CMs asked us to roll up our coat sleeves to see our wristbands...I was glad they did:thumbsup2

"hostile" poster here.

I hope my post did come across as hostile. That is exactly how I meant it to be. I find if very upsetting that someone "works" the system and than brags about it.

I understand having a late ADR and walking directly out (no problem with that) but spending 1.5+ hours at a party enjoying the parade, fireworks, and just walking around taking in the festive spirit (the snow on main street during MVMCP) is wrong.

I spend $300+ to attend a party. I bet prices would be cheaper if they did not have to cover all the scamers.

Shame on them

I agree! Not the MVMCP, but a couple of years ago we were at the MNSSHP waiting for the parade to start and the large family right next to us was bragging about how they had not bought tickets for the party. Instead they had made an ADR for Liberty Tree Tavern right at 6:45pm and then just stayed for the party. One of the kids made the comment that yeah, they did this every year for either the MNSSHP or MVMCP and got to stay to see the fireworks and parades, but he wanted to ride the rides and go trick or treating and they weren't allowed to do that. The dad got a little angry with him and said yeah, they couldn't ride rides or trick or treat, because they might get thrown out, but Disney didn't care if they just hung around and watched the parade and fireworks, so they did it every year and had never been thrown out.
