6/4/09 Wonder 3 Night

Actually we do have a suggestion.

Deck 10 midship on the side overlooking the port (which would actually be the starboard and not port side) just after the conclusion of the mandatory and somewhat not terribly exciting (ok it is important) evacuation drill...or about 4pm. This overlooks the sailaway party and people can then either stay up top or walk down to deck 9...and either way, I am always the landmark b/c i am 6'8" tall and will likely be wearing Disboard fluorescent green - we have a few of those from past trips.

Though in all likelihood, many in the group will spot others in the terminal if they know how to identify one another. But, since not everyone arrives at the same time, the 4pm meet has historically been the most effective solution.

Oe further question which i hope is not out of line or inappropriate, but I have not gone back to the beginning to read all the posts...looking at the FE list, I see no kids listed in one room and no ages in another...could someone please clarify whether there are kids in those two rooms and if so what the ages are so that we can make FE dropoffs age appropriate. Thnx.

Here is the list as last updated:
Fish Extenders
DisneyParkFan - Room 2070
jennimomX2 and her 2 DDs (14 & 11) and DNiece (11) - Room 2054
3Bells and her DH and DD - Room 7068
(maggiet)'s DD (11) and DS (11) and DNiece (11) - Room 6018
ICEMANPAD (DH & DW) and their DS (9 1/2) - Room 6636

I am traveling solo (DisneyParkFan). I don't think I remember Belynda listing her daughter's age (3Bells), she can let you know. I hope this answers your question. Are FE only for kids? Or can adults play too? Now I'm the one not wanting to sound out of line or inappropriate.
Also thanks for your suggestion of Deck 10 midship after the 4pm drill. :scared1: It sounds like a plan to me if nobody objects?

Chuck,
This might seem like a silly question BUT do we go back to our rooms first and put the life jackets away or do we stay and meet everyone with our life jackets on? :confused3 This could be a fun photo op! :3dglasses I don't know what people usually do. Of course, I'm not usual although I do like to think of myself as people. :hippie: Whatever the group decides, or knows is the usual thing to do, I will go with the flow. :rotfl: I just plan on having fun from start to finish!:upsidedow
And thank you Lisa for clarifying the FE question. :wizard: I didn't want anyone to feel awkward or obligated. ;)

I do not know if I can meet up. I am traveling with other people, that is not into all this like I am. I will talk it over with my dh and let you guys know closer to sail date.

One more update on our crew.. so sorry Dcousin (20) We have two side by side. My DH has one and I have the other.. we have connecting rooms. Our other rooms in the party is down from us. But everyone that is participating in our FE are in these two rooms.

The looks of ages, it looks like we have a lot of girls that are the same age! That is awesome. My girls love meeting new kids and exchanging info.

I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day..

Hats off to our educators...

I am little behind, I have been ill. I have to have minor surgery tomorrow morning, so I am up a little antsy.. Everything is ok.

Jenni - GOOD LUCK with the surgery - keep us posted!!:flower3:

All - meet and greet sounds great - we will be there (without lifejackets!).:woohoo:

There will be enough time after the life boat drill to drop the life jackets off in your cabin and then meet prior to the sail a way party!! :cool1: :thumbsup2

I will be at the meet and greet up on deck 10 on the starboard side after the life boat drill and without my life jacket. (thanks Lisa, us newbies don't know anything). :headache:
Jenni - Good Luck with your surgery (although I'm guessing you aren't rushing home and checking your DISboards posts).

One comment on a Dis-meet. The location I suggested is where virtually the entire boat will be at that time for the sailaway party. Thus if the rest of your group is not into this stuff, no big deal...you can let them stand a few feet away or save you a spot in the masses just below on Deck 9 by the stage while you come say hello for a few minutes....bottom line though is that your entire party will be in the same relative area anyway. Just an FYI.

Chuck:cool1:

Jenni,
Wishing you a speedy recovery!!!

Lisa/Chuck,
Thanks for all the advice/input on the meet and greet. I'm sure it will be fun. :dance3:

I have slept for most of the day.. So I am up late.

I am doing a whole lot better, probably another day of recovery.. well maybe to be pampered for one day, lol. :cutie:

I am using this time to make my list....

I think we are in on the greet and meet.. the problem we have, while I understand what Icemanpad is saying.. its that they are new to cruising and they will have a special need child with them and I promised to help the Mom out. But after talking to DH he thinks we can pop up to say hey! Who knows they may get involved.

Well I am back to making my list..

Should we have a cut off date? Maybe send a PM to the ones and ask them if they would like to take part? :confused3

I do not want no one to miss out that have been on on the thread?

Jenni - great to have you back! And yes, get all the pampering while you can - you know it won't last!

And, my awesome TA Keith called yesterday and our waitlist for main dining cleared! We are so excited. I had been imagining every dinner at the buffet.:wizard:

Jenni,

I assume you are talking about the Fish Extenders? (I don't think we could really tell people that can't take part in a Meet 'n' Greet on Deck 10 mid-ship starboard before the Sail Away Party) :snooty: I will gladly PM people (after practice tonight) to see if they are interested or not. :upsidedow That is very thoughtful of you to consider others who have posted to our thread. :flower3: I will add any new people/families to our list. :wizard: Is one week from today a good cut-off day for everyone? :confused3

Select any date that works, but I also suggest being flexible...I can tell you from personal experience that sometimes people sign up for the cruise at the last minute especially when there are Florida resident rates like this one. Suffice it to say that an FE cut-off was once a very divisive issue as about 7-8 Florida families joined the thread a couple weeks before sailing, including us. That was the Magic which tends to have more people participate b/c of the longer cruises, but I still caution flexibility in case someone does want to join late. Besides, we always have extra stuff. (and i might add that on a couple of those cruises we had close to 50 participants - but great exercise making deliveries after meals).

You would be correct.. My thought process was way ahead of myself last night, lol.

I was going to have extra made. We will be leaving two day before sail date. I will have things already packed and ready, just hate to miss out one someone.

Chuck, thanks for reminding me to be flexible. I usually am at school with my partner teacher. In fact I was already plannning on making a few extra FE gifts just in case there were any last minute guests. I didn't know if other people needed more time? Anyway, I won't give the people I am PM a cut-off date (I guess that does sound cold when written that way) and just see who is interested and accepts the invite. I am hoping that is okay with everyone else and no one feels the need to rush out and buy or make more FE gifts than they are already comfortable with. It's late, so I am hoping this makes sense to everyone else and doesn't sound like I am complaining or criticizing or just being a good old pain in the neck (or any other body part).
