Is there any way that our party of 7 will be able to see the fireworks if we have dinner at the Brown Derby at 6:30? If so, what's our best strategy?

someone stay at the table and everyone else run outside. very slim chance you'll be done eating in time for everyone to go.

If you want a good spot, you want to be at the fireworks about 45-60 minutes ahead of time to claim a spot you can see the entire building it's projected on without trees to look through. longer if it's a holiday weekend.

agreed! Thats really pushing it. You may not get sat right at 6:30pm. I would hate to ruin a great dinner by worrying about the time. Can you try to schedule the dinner sooner?

I'll certainly look for one. But we were trying to figure out the best way to see the fireworks, and we realized that one of our nights we had no other plans, so I looked for dinner at HS and found a 6:35 Brown Derby reservation and jumped on it, since we're a party of 7. If this is the best we can do, where should people (most likely 2 adults and 3 kids) go when they get outside? The other two parents will remain in the restaurant with margaritas.

Very unlikely your party (any member of it) would be able to get a "good" viewing spot for SW.
This is not a show centered on its fireworks.
It is centered on projections that must be viewed from a far too small area.
One that fills early.

It looks like we should abandon our Brown Derby reservation, since we'd rather see the fireworks. Thanks for helping me figure this out!

You can always keep trying for an earlier ADR at HBD. It's a nice place to eat and something could come open as some folks will cancel the day prior to avoid the "no show" fee. Good luck! :earsboy:

I always eat at HBD on my DHS day.

You wouldn't make it.

Will you look at that. A 5:20 spot just opened up. I booked it. Now what are my chances of catching the fireworks after dinner?

About an hour better.

Arrive and check-in at HBD by 5pm, or earlier.
Ask for the meal's bill as soon as your food arrives, and pay early.

Don't dawdle after dining and head directly to find a spot for Star Wars.

haha what does that mean thoooooooo?

EDIT: thanks for clarifying! your instructions are invaluable!

be early for dinner and let them know your there. you'll have a better chance to be seated on time if not early. Then after dinner your going directly to fireworks and getting the best spot you can find. table service takes about 90 minutes and it's a very small area that doens' thold many people for a great fireworks spot.
