6/29/15 Magic to Norway & Iceland

There is a 3 day pre cruise by ABD that is offered. I think a far number of us are doing this.

You're talking about the Copenhagen ABD pre-cruise, right?

I was really excited about the pre-cruise in Copenhagen (loved our ABD add-on on our Alaska cruise) ... then the prices came out!

At $16 000+ USD ($18 000+ CAD) for all 8 of us, just can't justify it. That's almost as much as our three cabins for the whole 11 night cruise!

Cautiously optimistic that we can do our shore excursions and DLP post cruise for (significantly, fingers crossed) less than that amount.

Thanks!

One of these days I'll try to make my way over to the Facebook page ... but at moment my nephews don't know we're planning this (nor does the extended family) and I would hate for the "secret" to get out by one of them seeing a Facebook post. (The boys often look over my shoulder at photos and such.)

I thought of creating a dummy account, but that just seems silly since I have a perfectly good FB account already.

If you don't mind my asking, is there any chatter about adding a stay in Disneyland Paris post cruise? This is something we're thinking about doing. Likely a pre-day in Copenhagen for Tivoli as well.

Looking over your shoulder could be a problem. However, family seeing posts on their feed your wall wouldn't be an issue. The group is closed so no one can see anything or you post except for members of the group.

Yes, several of the 175+ people on the FB group have expressed plans and interest in going to DLP. Quite a few hat aren't on the ABD pre trip are also planning on going to Copenhagen early and visiting Tivoli.

Hi calypso726!

I'm also a non social media user too.... I have set up a FB page and have just requested to join the cruise FB page. My name should show up as Faith Dust. It's fun to see all the beautiful pictures and the count down that you post. Thanks so much! :)

:welcome: to the DISboards! I have added you to the FB group. I'm glad you are enjoying the count down and pictures. Enjoy!

In the interest of keeping everyone in the loop. Someone on the FB group posted that Iceland Air will be releasing flights that can be booked for next June next week.

Thank you for posting this!:thumbsup2

Turns out we can actually fly with them from our small local airport via codeshare, so definitely an option I will be exploring!

You are welcome :goodvibes

While the pre-cruise Adventures by Disney Copenhagen tour is sold out, I understand there is a wait list people can get on in case someone opts to cancel by the pay in full date. There is also a rumor that if there is enough interest for an embedded ABD tour throughout the cruise it may happen. Apparently your travel agent can notate that somewhere in your reservation or there is a box to be checked with no obligations. I imagine ABD/DCL is trying to gauge the interest level before putting something together and announcing.

I know several on the FB group have booked the pre cruise tour and notated interest in the embedded tour. There is a Disboard meet thread on the ABD forum for those on the pre-cruise Copenhagen ABD. CLICKY HERE

A number of folks are planning to try to get reservations at Noma in Copenhagen which has been voted the number 1 restaurant in the world numerous times. This is despite the fact that the menu reads like something from a Survivor or Amazing Race script and makes Victoria and Albert's prices look like fast food :lmao:

Well there is no turning back now!

I booked our flight to Copenhagan last night. We are leaving from Boston on Iceland Air arriving very early morning on the 19th. We'll probably use a hoponhopoff tour for the day and then crash from exhaustion with hopefully a good nights rest prior to embarkation. We've used this tactic before and it usually defeats jet lag. Would like a little more time in Copenhagan but this trip could already interfere with DS end of school schedule as is and the B2B is already hitting the budget. We'll likely get one more day in Copenhagan in between the B2B.

Planning next: hotel in Copenhagan, excursions, flight home.

Congrats on getting flights! We will be crossing fingers for flights using miles. Although we are doing the pre ABD trip we are also using the same tactics to combat jet lag. It worked last year when we flew to Scotland.

A little long and hotel focused but I enjoyed the presentation especially about 14 minutes through to the end.

Thanks for sharing!!!

Do we have a logo for this cruise yet? If not, I'll get DH started....just realized I have a blank space in my signature line in need of the logo for our first PLATINUM cruise!!!!!

My husband Joe and I are booked on this cruise as well - we are very excited! This will be our 10th Disney Cruise!

I don't believe we do. I know some folks in the FB group were discussing getting t-shirts with a logo for our cruise at one point. I don't if anything has come of that yet or if anyone is working on it. I imagine choices to select from would be well received! Congrats on reaching platinum!

Happy Monday Morning fellow cruisers! I hope everyone had a great 4th.
If you have never been to Colonial Williamsburg (VA) especially for the 4th.
It is a great place to spend the birth of our nation at a place that daily celebrates the sacrifice of those who came before us.

We went on this trip with high expectations about 5 years ago and the area still managed to exceed those expectations especially when combined with Jamestown and Yorktown. A little known gem in the area is Bacon's Castle.
