I have a 6:15 ps at Chef Mickey's on May 4 at 6:15. I tried to change it now that I know Spectro is only on that night but I could not. My question is can both be done? I was thinking of just trying to get to my reservation early. I just don't won't to waste all that money on the food and have to scarf it down and not really get to enjoy the characters. How long do you usually mingle with characters? How long will it take to get to MK from there? Also if we do get done in time will there be any seats to see the parade when we get there? Thanks!

We were at Chef Mickey's in Nov and we were seated 30 minutes before our PS. The restaurant was packed and I was really surprised. So my vote is that it's worth a try! You can get your picture taken when you check in, so that will save some time later.

Here is the long story...
We didn't remember that our PS was at 7:00 - we thought it was at 6:30. We went to Chef Mickey's at 6:15 to check-in for our PS. There was a LONG line and I had to wait 15 minutes to check-in. The CM had a list of PS's printed out and I saw that mine was for 7:00, so we planned to walk around the hotel and wait. Before we even left the check-in area our beeper went off and they seated us! I did not even ask to be seated early.

Good luck!

We average around 90 minutes for dinner at Chef Mickey's. You can take the monorail to MK from the resort.

As for having a seat, unlikely. Most people line up at least 60 minutes in advance to have a seat.

I also would recommend arriving early for your PS. If you're there around 5:45 and a table opens up at 6, you might just get lucky. Also, the beginning of May usually isn't that crowded.

Good luck and have a great trip.

We did something similar last week. PS at Chef mickeys at 5 with spectro at 7...we were seated around 5:15, ate at our leisure, made it to the park about 6:45...and it was a zoo at the entrance gates. It would have been difficult to get anywhere, so we went to the top of the train station, and ended up being about the third person deep to watch the parade. It seems like the disney magic goes away when people are picking out their parade viewing spots...Some people are not very nice! Wishes was at 8, and we did get a good spot for that. It will be tight, but you can do it. It only takes a few minutes to get to the mk from chef mickeys via the monorail, but you will stop at the transportation center, poly and grand floridian.
