Since I now have all of the names and ages for the cabins, I will be creating another spreadsheet at home(easier this time because I know how to do it LOL), since I can't use the one from the floppy disk at home. I will create this and sending it out this evening, but don't know how to attach it to our thread. Can someone tell me how to do it, or DH will be home about 4:30 and can show me. I'm off work today- no power at Jordan's school, but we are running errands until this afternoon, so I'll be working on it then. Let me know if any suggestions on another way to get it to you guys, I could also email it to you. Let me know.

P.S. Jordan and I are going out to get some things for our FE gifts today.

What no power at the school? What is going on?
Also Thanks so much for doing this and a question. Are we trying to do a gift for everyday or every other or once? What are the guide lines for this because I want to make sure to do the same amount for whoever does one for us.

It looks like with the exchange it would be easy to lets say for example. We have DS age 6 and DS age 9. And for those just exchange with one of the other age DS 6 year old and other DS 9 year old. Because it will not matter if there is an even or odd number because eveyone can just have someone else. Because I don't think we have any ages where there is just 1 and if so then just add them to the age group and sex that is closest to them.
This way it is simple and we can just worry about buying for same ages ,etc that we have. And can worry about names later.
That was the way it was done on the last cruise that had it.

We also have done a Secret Mickey where you were assigned someone and you bought them a special gift without letting the person know who you were till the end. Is that more like what we are doing????

I am so confused.

We have always done it where we bought a gift for each cabin/family. Basically give 25 gifts and in return get 25 gifts back??? Are we not doing it that way? We also have done a Secret Mickey where you were assigned someone and you bought them a special gift without letting the person know who you were till the end. Is that more like what we are doing????

Well whatever the gift is you chose to do....we have gotten everything from magnets to candy cars, to scrapbooks, etc... Whatever it is that you chose you would make/buy as many people or cabins there were and just deliever gifts one day. I hope that is making sense. I am confused ready what i wrote!

FE - I thought it was 1 thing for each person or one thing for each cabin for the entire cruise (depending on what you choose to give)


I've already started down that route. I'm making something... 33 down 50 to go.

What is everyone doing for FE gifts-one per cabin, one per person? Do we have a count of about how many are participating? I have to start thinking of what to do?

Are we doing a gift exchange at the meet up too?

That's what I'm doing as well.

That's a good idea about bringing something from the area you're in- I think I'm gonna bring a bushel of steamed crabs- do you think they'll let me on the ship?

This is part of how the decision was made. Someone PLEASE let all of us know what we are supposed to be doing.

My undersding was that you gave something small to EACH Child participating in the FE and something small to EACH Cabin participating in the FE, and that we were going to draw a name at the DIS Meet at 3:00 to give the 1 gift representing our hometown too.

Therefore we have 40 kids participating, 26 cabins and 1 DIS Meet Exchange.

Ok. The FE exchange plan has been to at least do 1 item per cabin. Some of us are planning to do that as well as a little something for every child. It would be done only once for the cruise. So as someone said, if we have 26 cabins participating then each cabin would give 26 gifts during the cruise. (Each cabin could pick which day they would like to deliver)

There had been discussions of doing a gift exchange at the DIS meet where you bought something that represents your area and we draw names. I think the person that was going to organize the meet had to cancel. So this is up for discussion.

WOW I don't know if you are driving or flying but we can't pack that much stuff extra nor take back due to we are flying and that would be like an extra bag itself.

Or if I want to get all the adults in each cabin a gift, and all the kids too, that's fine also. Even if the gifts are small, the cost adds up with so many cabins participating. And some people don't have the time to think of or buy a lot of different gift, and some won't have the space to pack them. We don't want anyone to not participate because its become too expensive, time-consuming or confusing. If some cabins end up with more gifts, or fewer gifts, does it really matter? We are only doing this as a way to make the cruise more fun, add some extra surprises, and as a way to get to know each other.

Agree! This is my 1st FE so I was following what everyone else was doing...

I am flying but shipping the box with all of my FE stuff to the ship ahead of time so I don't have to pack it.
