Hey everyone- what's going on today? It's cold again here.

I went on a tour of my "new" job this morning, the conversion date for the two banks is May 22, so I will be starting there on May 26. It's been a little "chilly" here since we got the news that I'm the only one with a job, but I thought this might happen. Another girl in my group got a job in a different department, but it's in a less than desirable department, but she does keep her pay, etc.- so everone's still being nice to her. The new position I am getting is where I used to work, so I knew everyone except 3(out of 19), managers, VP's and up, so that was nice.

Hi! It's cold here in Illinois, too! Our midwest weather has been crazy...70's one day, than 30's the next!

Good luck with your new position. It makes it a little easier that you know the people you will be working with. But, I'm sure it is very hard on you to work in the current "climate". Hang in there!

Congratulations and I hope all goes well.

We just had a very large layoff at my firm and we are down to 3 people left in my department (of an original 30). There is a lot more work to do, but I am just glad I have a job.

I have been away from this thread for a few weeks, but hope to be able to jump back in and catch up on the action (and fun).

Zane, I am so sorry you had to cancel, but I do believe you made the right decision. The pressure of not being able to take any more time off between now and June, certainly would not help the healing process. You can now look forward to a relaxing trip to WDW in August.

I now have to organize my vacation and start planning my excursions. Is anyone else hesitant about doing excursions on their own in Cozumel due to the recent travel advisories?

Yep!! It is offically tigger weather here around the Dallas area!!
First it is hot near 85 just last weekend and Monday and Tuesday in the mid 70's and dry and not starting yesterday and today temp is only around 45 and cold rain, rain and more rain. ( but we need the rain).

I think we'll be OK in Cozumel- I would just be aware of your surroundings. DH and I grew in a not so great neighborhood(don't live there now)so used to kind of looking over our shoulders. As for Cozumel, I have been 3 times, one time I went with my cousin(female family members did a cruise- DH didn't go), it was so hot, so I had a tank top, and my hair was very blond at that time, I got alot of unwanted attention from some of the locals- apparently they like uhhh... full figured women. They weren't too interested in my tanned black haired petite pretty cousin. LOL Anyway, one reached to touch my shoulder, I drew back my fist to punch him(I'm a city girl- so I don't play too much- hahahah), my cousin grabbed me and put us in a cab to go back to the ship. She still talks about that.

Yep!! Now only have left what hotels to stay and car rental. We have several free nights we can use for hotel ( which is great only paying hotel taxes) but car rental is so high still??? Need to work on that one.LOL

Did you try mousesavers website, they have some good codes for car rentals?
