5K in February?

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to this forum, but it looks like I've found the right place! DH and I are celebrating "big" birthdays next winter/spring and thought it would be fun to celebrate by running a 5K at Disney together. We would really like to go sometime in early February, but as far as I can tell, there are no races during that time. Just wanted to check to make sure that I'm not missing anything?

Does anyone know if there will be another ESPN 5K at the end of Feb. 2010? That looks like it could be the only February option...

Thanks for any info you might be able to share!

I am not sure if the ESPN 5K will happen again next year or not but if you want to go in February there will be races in the area. December through March is pretty much prime running season in Florida. If Disney doesn't have a race and you are willing to drive a little bit check out Florida Running and Active. The Gasparilla Distance Classic is over in Tampa in February and they have 5 different race distances. It is a very easy drive over there if you dn't mind taking a day out of the trip.

I know you would prefer doing a race at Disney but if it is easier to fit a race into your vaction than to plan a vacation around a race look into it.

Unfortunately, we are just able to make a quick trip (Fri AM until Mon. PM), so we need to stick close to Disney. But, I'll check out those sites. Thanks!

My source at Disney says looks promising but Disney won't release date. They always reserve their right to change their minds :sad2:
