59 Snack Credits Left on Check-Out Day!

I was thinking the same thing! How fun would it be to sprinkle a little pixie dust and make someone else's trip a little more magical?!

:wizard:

I was kinda hoping the woman using up her 59 credits would throw a few our way, lol. We were on the way to the airport to go home and had depleted all of our DDP credits, so we had to pay cash (gasp!) for our lunch. Would've loved a couple rice krispy Mickey bars for the road!

I guess we are piggies bc using 2 snack credits each per day is no problem for us.... popcorn, smoothies, icecream bars, fresh fruit, sodas, bottled water, dole whips, pickles, cookies........ mmmmmm no problem at all!

Same thing happened to us during our last trip when we used DxDP. When I realized that we still had 34 credits left on the last day (plus one meal credit), I just couldn't let them go. The CM at our resort gift shop was great in helping us figure our what qualified as snacks, so we brought tons of stuff back - almonds, dried pineapple, chocolate coins, chocolate mint candy bars (my favorite!), cotton candy, cookies, etc. We're not junk food eaters in my house, so those snacks served as every-once-in-a-while treats and lasted forever.

Incidentally, we also bought the TS Mania Wii game in Futureworld on our last day. The day after we got back, we spent a good part of it playing the game and munching on a few of those snacks. Made the trip last just a little bit longer. :)

We're doing the DxDP again for our next trip coming up in just a few weeks. :yay: Yes, it costs quite the pretty penny, but I love not having to think about how much of her meal my very picky daughter is not eating (used more than a few snack credits to supplement last time), and actually find her getting excited about the variety and is more willing to try new things. I love getting to eat wherever we want without looking at prices, and definitely feel we get our money's worth.

i use alll my snack credits to buy the larger size krispy treats at the resorts for DH. They travel well, and he loves them. :goodvibes

We usually have snack credits left over and that actually does surprise me because I love to eat. lol.

We used ours to buy souvies (at the POP gift shop) such as cute tins of mints for co-workers, box of Mickey Head Mac and Cheese for Niece and anything edible that someone at home might enjoy.

Now I try to save them to see how I can stretch my budget.

We used the qsdp and had some snack credits left. It worked perfect for us because we were moving to Ft Wilderness for our last 3 days w/o the dp so we used our credits to stock up our cottage.

I can't imagine not using my snack credits on a Dole Whip or Float at MK! No way would I have that many snack credits left over! ;)

it took me a while to persuade DW to quit paying for water and not use a SC. I told her i was keeping track and not to worry. We ate plenty of snacks and gave ice cream to kids and we still had a handful of SCs leftover. We bought Pez dispensers as goofy gifts.

WE have done the deluxe dining plan the last few trips and have never had snack credits left over. We do use them for bottles of soda and water though and do not spend time trying to maximize their value. We just use them until we run out. :)

We had 7 snacks left on ours this past Dec. and I grabbed 3 Mickey Rice Krispie treats and 3 boxes of Vanilla wafers, chips ahoy and Wheat thins and 1 bag of Chip and Dale pretzels.

We flew home on xmas day and we ended up not getting any lunch on our layover as we had to run to the next gate since our first leg got in so late. Those snacks were a lifesaver! We ate practically all those snacks and watched Elf- the inflight movie.

Jeez... DD and I did the regular dining plan last August and ended up with leftover cs credits. It was just too much food! I can't imagine us doing the DxDP! To be fair, we went to Afternoon Tea (paid OOP) at the GF one day and that was our supper, so if we hadn't eaten there we would have used the cs credits at Starlight Ray's or someplace.

It's nice to share your extra credits with other families, and since you paid for them you should get to decide how to use them, but I believe sharing credits with non-dining plan people is against the rules for the Disney Dining Plan program. I know how many DIS-ers feel it's setting a bad example to do things like keep 2 ADR's, get a stroller from a family that's leaving a park as you are arriving, send one party member to get FPs for a ride while the rest wait in line at another ride and "hold" spots, even though I haven't seen any of these things printed as rules from DIsney... but not sharing dining plan credits IS specified... :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Doing the QSDP for the fist time this trip, we have 100 snack credits to use up. In the past I have worried about running out (though we never did and always had leftovers to bring home treats.) I am going to remind myself to enjoy them but if in the end we have leftovers (and I am sure we will) we plan to hit the bakeries for some things and lots of Mickey rice crispie treats for the kids lunches. They love that. I couldn't leave them behind either, thankfully we drive so we don't have to.

That was me at 5 am in captain cooks filling up a bag of about 30 snacks before our early flight. Next time I'm going to remember to drink more bottled water and diet cokes to use them up.

Our last trip was 3 days, and we had buy 8 snacks before leaving the park to go home - and that was considering the fact that we had a 2yo not on meal plan at the time. It was fine for us, because we drove down - so we loaded up on car snacks. This time we're staying for 10 days (9 on DxDDP) - and I'm certain will have even more, since we're staying club level. I plan on trying to find some things that we can take on the plane, or maybe treats that I can put in the christmas stockings or gift baskets without going bad.

It's no worry to me though, we're still saving on DxDDP given the restaurants we chose. The food, characters, experience, and comfort of sit down dining were also part of our vacation (for DH & I). On top of that, we're going to several 2 TS locations, since we can have breakfast on CL (signature and specialty, like Cinderella's castle, etc). It's going to be a great birthday for our son, and entry in to Christmas for the kids :)

It's definitely worth it forour family to use them for bottles of soda or water. These are items we would buy once or twice a day anyway. So, why not use snack credits for them? I think some people get caught up in maximizing the value of a snack credit and end up hoarding them. :rotfl:

wdw does not really care if you give your snacks to a stranger...I have done it a few times with the CMs blessing...they are yours , you paid for it, they are not going to tell you what to do with your food...I can see not taking people to a TS places and paying for their meals but giving leftover snacks...no biggie.

We had about 30 credits left (from the CS plan) on our '09 trip. We loaded up on snacks at Cptn Cooks before checking out of the Poly. We paid for them (no free dining), and I didnt have a problem getting what we signed up for. Whether we ate them all during our vacation time, or on our last day made no matter to Disney. There is no way I would leave all those snacks on our card. We would use them up ourselves or give them to someone there. We are on free dining for our next trip (although since we are paying rack rate, not really "free") and we will have 112 snacks to use. :scared1:
I will be trying out some snacks I wouldnt usually buy, and if we have some left at the end....we will be stocking up for the ride home and to give to friends and family:thumbsup2

We did the dining plan for our first four trips and realized the table service took up so much or our time. We did the QS plan last time and enjoyed it much better. We got the mug which was great and would use one of the snacks for breakfast. Sometimes only needed two credits for my family as we could share. We still had to use up about 5 leftover snack credits on our last day. We never have any meal credits left over though. There are some very good QS restaurants at Disney.

I'm pretty sure we're going to end up with quite a lot of left over snack credits on our next trip! We're a party of 5 (2 staying 21 nights and 3 staying 14 nights) on the DxDP, that's 168 snack credits and 252 meal credits :scared1:!

We've planned to use every single meal credit (infact we're actually short a couple!) and we're going to have a whole 2 tier wedding cake to try and eat our way through, with that amount of food I know we are going to struggle to eat snacks as well. We then have to fly back to the UK with suitcases full of wedding attire etc so bringing snacks home isn't really going to be an option (there's no way I'm paying excess baggage to bring them back!). It's still great value for money for us though as we booked with free DDP and 45% off rack rate for our rooms, we only paid the upgrade to DxDP.

I wonder if our wedding vendors will accept mickey treats in lieu of payment! :lmao:

We stayed this past Aug for 9 nights @ CBR. At the end we had about 8 credits left among the 3 of us. It worked out well though because we were going to Universal for 2 nights. We got some snacks to bring with us and it saved us $$$ on snacks @ Universal. I just booked next Aug for 6 nights @ BC. We have free dining and we are not going to Universal afterward. I an going to use more snack credits for breakfast and i will probably use them up that way. I can walk to that great bakery in France!!!!! I can't wait
