We're heading to WDW in June for the husband's 50th, and plan to be at Epcot for the day. Our friends are meeting us down there, so we'll have a group of about 12. I've contacted Disney Catering, and so far their offerings require a minimum of 25 people. Looking for any suggestions for a surprise celebration, or celebration suggestions in general. Thanks in advance for any suggestions! :)

Make sure he has a birthday button.

Can you make a reservation at a restaurant and get a cake as part of that celebration? This webpage has the information for ordering cakes from WDW. I like the idea of celebrating somewhere where you can watch the MK fireworks afterward-- somewhere on the monorail loop.

HDDR makes a big deal about birthdays as part of the show. The food is yummy, and the show is fun. We celebrated my grandma's 75th birthday there.

Last time we went, we watched the MK fireworks from the dock at GF. Someone had rented part of the dock for a private birthday party. They had pizza and cake and WDW staff keeping other people away. There were far fewer than 25 people at this celebration.

TY!! My last resort is to order a cake for dinner (we have ADRs at France). I was hoping to have some other options to celebrate together while at Epcot/watching Illuminations. :)

We have ordered a cake from WDW before. I believe they actually made it at the Grand Floridian and brought it over to the Poly. It was beautiful and working with the baker in creating it and giving ideas was wonderful! An illuminations cruise would be great..but I think 12 people may be too many for the pontoon boat. I could be wrong about that though. If it does, it would really be a tight fit for 12 adults. Perhaps a party in one of the lounges at a Deluxe?

Thanks!! We're staying at BWV - good idea to contact them and see if there's anything they can suggest as well. :)
