50th birthday at Disneyland for Halloween

Hi all.....
I followed the dates thread for the Halloween information/dates to be released but have a few other questions.

We will be at Disneyland Oct 28-Nov 2 for my 50th birthday trip. My birthday is Halloween so hoping for the party on my birthday & have high hopes that the DL hotel does the Halloween afternoon tea again like I read about last year.

It has been about 4 years since our last Disneyland trip & I honestly can't remember how far in advance I need to make dining reservations for places like Steakhouse 55, Carthay Circle etc. I know it's not crazy for advanced reservations at DL like it is at WDW.

Also flying in to John Wayne this time & not sure what is the best way to get to Disneyland. Our other 2 Disneyland trips have been Adventures by Disney trips so they arranged all our transportation.

I am sure I'll have more questions but those are the ones that are pressing on my mind right now.

Congrats!, Make the dining reservations beginning on August 27/28 for Oct. 28..they open up 60 days in advance so you get your times and restaurants.
You can always hire a car service from the Airport or Super Shuttle. Many on these boards have used both!
Always if you want Halloween Party tickets for your birthday. The tickets will go on sale in July. Check the DL site daily.

Dining reservations open up 60 days out, but are generally available same week....so no worries there since you can reserve when you are sure of what you want.
For airport transportation....shuttles are available pretty much at will (dedicated area at SNA) and charge ~$11 per person for a shared ride. Taxis are always out and it's about $40/45 (+tip) for a cab.
