Which do you prefer? why?

If you want role-playing 'family' atmosphere and "home style" cookin' and desserts, PT. For quieter, Italian cuisine (w/Fantasmic! Dining Package), MM. I like both, but tend to try to make PT once per trip (usually for lunch) and MM if I want to slow down and relax a little.

well considering dh and i both got sick, on different visits, to mama melrose, i'd have to go with 50's. :)

We definitely prefer 50's for both better food and better atmosphere. Mama Melrose is very mediocre Italian. Think very overpriced Olive Garden without the soup, salad and breadsticks! The food is edible but not good if you know what I mean. 50's is good.

50's PTC, hands down. We did the Fantasmic package years ago, when my son was little. Now that he has a GAC, we don't need the package, but even still we have not been back to MM. The kitschy environment, the act from the waiters and waitresses, plus the great 'comfort' food menu. It just is much better than MM.

MM was the worst meal I have had a restaurant - including outside of Disney.

50's PTC! One of my favorites at WDW.. love the pot roast :lovestruc plus the milkshakes and the fun atmosphere!!

We have never eaten at MM I have always heard negative comments so we never tried it. 50s is a must do for our family....we love it!!

thanks all... looks like 50s is the winner.

I just like the atmosphere better at Sci fi. It's dark and fun. 50s is too cramped for me. I like the food better for being at Disney. I'm not as likely to feel stuffed.

I have never been to Mama Melrose. However I have been to 50's Prime Time Cafe on multiple occasions, plus I thought they served great food and I loved their atmosphere.

i love MM, it was a great atmosphere and the food was amazing i would choose that.

i've been to both, and thought they were both great,
but i would have to choose 50's Prime Time.
it was just such a great atomosphere, and awesome food.

50's Prime Time in a heart beat. We always eat there. We love the show from the servers. If you play along it's fun. The food is always good and the pricing while still Disney pricing the portions are huge so sharing can easliy work.

We had been to Mama Melrose's about 5 trips ago and decided to give it another try this past trip in April. What a mistake. The atmosphere is frankly not there. The servers were the least "Disneyfied" if you know what I mean. The menu was limited and the pricing was ridiculous. The food was a major disappointment. We will never go back.

Ok... I made a ressie for 50s.... but here's my question now!!! My confirmation said that we may not all be seated at the same table...??? There's six of us. Me, DH and our 4 kids.. Will we really be split up? that wouldnt be fun...

It is possible. But, that message is on them all I think.

I would choose 50s. Mama Melrose had terrible food and service both times we visited. We wont be back.
