Well since I couldn't get Fantasmic Pkg at Mama Melrose for May 14 I made an ADR at 50's Prime Time just to be in the park and ready to wait in line for the show. Now after seeing the menu for Captain's Grille and reading that it is only a 20 min walk or boat ride to the YachtClub Resort I think I may want to change it . What do you all think!:confused3

We are a non fussy eating family of four: me ,DH, DS-12 and DS-10
:yay:

I have eaten at both and I guess it would really come down to what type of atmosphere you want. At 50's it's a fun atmosphere with in my opinion average(not a bad thing) food the likes of meatloaf, fried chicken and such. WE also stayed at the Captains Grille a couple of weeks ago when we stayed at the YC and I have to say that the Captains Grille was a very pleasant surprise. We enjoyed it.

Captain's Grille is a nice, sit down restaurant with good food. Plan for more like 30 minutes travel time if you're going to wait for a boat.

50's Prime Time is more of an experience than a meal. Food is fine, but not the focus here.

I don't think that I'd waste time going to the Captain's Grille if I was just waiting for Fantasmic. It's nice, but not memorable. 50's Prime Time is.

We usually do Captain's Grille before Fantasmic.

50s PTC is a cute place and can be a lot of fun if your server is playful, but they are notorious for looooong waits to even be seated, which could affect your timeline. The food is decent but nothing great.

Captain's on the other hand, being not nearly as popular, has never cost us waiting time - we are usually walked right to our table when we check in. The food here is excellent, and we've never had trouble getting back in time for Fantasmic even using the boat. The boat ride just adds a little relax time after dinner.

Leave extra time if you are eating at 50's as I have always had to wait at least 20 min. for my reservation. On our last visit the interaction was terrible. I doubt if I will return.

We love them both! If it is easier to stay in the park I would just to 50's PT. The walk is pretty long and could tire out the kids...the boats, well if you are lucky enough to have one waiting that is great but you could wait 15 minutes for a boat to show up and then 15 minutes or more to get to the BC

We love both places. Both have good food and 50's is in the park and it is fun there. It really depends where you want to be.
