I've heard some mixed reviews about this place. Could you guys give me your honest opinion on the food here? Is it just ok or is it pretty bad?

We enjoyed our meals...fried chicken and Caesar salad entree...food was hot, fresh, tasty and the entertainment was great! I would definitely eat there again without hesitation. :goodvibes

This is a favorite of DHs. The food is good...not great....which is acceptable to me....if we have a good server. I believe your server makes or breaks this restaurant. We have been fortunate. My DD had a server on one occasion that was just okay. We will be dining at 50s on our next trip.

The food was pretty good to us. We are going a second time. The theme of the restaurant is fantastic!

We tried it for the first in May '07. The food wasn't great and not good in my book. I tried the meatloaf because of the DIS board recommendations. It was dry and no taste. The green beans were undercooked. The seating was so close to the next family we could have been seating in each other's lap. The waiter was nice but we don't know if he was just being funny or was he really in a hurry for us to get up for the next family. Too rushed for us and we were not there during peak time. We have no plans to go back.

I'd say it depends on what you order. On our Sept 07 trip I got the fried chicken which was absolutely fantastic(still dream about it -that's how good it was!); however, my bff got the meatloaf which was so bad she only ate one bite.

I guess what I'm saying is - if you go get the fried chicken :goodvibes

We ate there Jan 28 2008. There were 6 of us all together. We all thought the food was good. I had the pot roast and DH had the meatloaf. The 2 older kids ordered the grilled chicken strips kids meal and the 2 younger kids ordered the kids pick meals (chicken nuggets). Our waiter "uncle Tim" was wonderful. He had the kids laughing so hard it looked like they were crying all night. We will be doing this one again in May.

I've been twice, once in July 05 and again this past Nov. we LOVED it both times. The 1st time I went with my mom, sis and nephew. We all loved everything, in 05 we went for lunch and got Onion Rings for an app.

In November, I got the fried Cheese app, which was soooooooo good!!!
and I think the pot roast for my entree. (don't have pictures I forgot my camera) and it was really really good. I would go again in a heartbeat:thumbsup2

ETA: our server was cousin Mikey in November and he was the BEST!! We had soooo much fun, it was the most fun and the most laughing I've ever done

We have ate there several times....like previous posters....good not great....I never understood how of all the rest. we have ate at...this one takes for ever to get a table even with the ADR...always 30-40 minutes past our ressie.
We have had the great "MOM" server (probably 50 plus years) who was terrific then we had the 25 year old from Brazil trying to act like mom...(not even close)......

One quick story about that: We are a blended family..second marriage for us...my son is 14 and small for his age, my stepson is 13 and tall for his age...our server thought my son was the younger one....we explained he was a year older, her response: "what happened to you when you were born??" I was p.o'd to say the least...I came very close to calling for the manager....
I was shocked by the whole thing, my son just put his head down...

They do have good drinks while waiting for a table.....
I do not recomend the pork tenderloin....it was like jerkey!!!
Great onion rings, like previous photos show!! great shakes. If we take kids we would go there, by ourselves.....No...

I think it would be hard to order meatloaf almost anywhere. I know I'm very partial to my grandmother's and anything else tastes like dog food.

I had the roast for dinner and it was amazing. My brother got fried chicken with greens and the greens were so good I stole some from him. I had the chocolate malt for dessert and it was basically 2 full glasses put on the table in front of me. I can't wait to go back.

Ate there last September for the first time after years of thinking it just wouldn't be for me. I don't like antics, fun, but not embarassing.

Anyway we arrived about 10 minutes early and were seated about 5 minutes after that. Our server was awesome and never picked on us, he seemed to know that wasn't for us. He was our best in 10 days. We were on the complimentary dining so he got the automatic 18% and he just made my day so I left him an extra $20 (being our dining is complimentary I do leave extra for extra nice folks who go the extra mile......knowing their tip is automatic).

I got the roast, my son the meatloaf and both were awesome. His dessert was the sundae and it was GREAT ! I would go there just for that.

After 10 days of dining, this is one of the few I would return to with the entire family.

Photos: roast, meatloaf, appetizer & dessert.

We just ate there last night. We all had pot roast and thought is was very tastey!

We enjoyed our meal there last Nov/Dec. I had the meat loaf and DH had the pot roast. I think with any restaurant sometimes you have great meals, sometimes so so meals and sometimes not so great meals. Same on the servers. One of the ways we choose where we eat is by the menu. If they have something that sounds good to you and you want to try eating here try it.

We have eaten there twice as well. The first time back in 2004 was great!!! We had aunt Cindy! What a hoot. It was My Dh my DD and my parents! We thought the food was good so this past year when we went back with the whole family all 12 of us, we thought we would show it off to every one else!!!! Food was delicious waitress however was not so great she was about 25 looked like from Maybe Brazil and never told us her name and we were even trying to get her to play along but maybe she had a bad day!?!?!?!?!

We ate at the Prime Time in November..we were a group of 10, 5 adults and 5 kids... ranging from 6 months to 10 years old. I thought the service was aweful! We waited an hour and 1/2 for our food! I had a fit! The atmosphere grew old after the 1st 45 minutes and the waitress was just bad..she was funny for the 1st 20 minutes and then I wanted to strangle her..the kids were melting down and it was not a good situation. Once the food finally did come out it wasn't good..which was the cherry on the cake. We are going back in August and will not be returning to the Prime time cafe..;)

Thanks for all the feedback you guys! It sounds like most of you had a great experience. I made an ADR for our upcoming trip.

DH and I ate there in September. I had the fried cheese app, and it was YUMMY!! I had the chicken caesar salad for an entree, and it was very good, but the highlight of the meal was the S'mores. DH had the fried chicken, and he said it was very good.

we enjoyed the food there!! Much better the Sci-Fi in my opinion!!! And the Smores are amazing!!

We just got back and walked into this restaurant when we were at Hollywood studios. It was good, not great. I think they really missed the boat with the foods that they offer. I was looking for more things like the Plaza vs. more upscale foods. It is like they are trying too hard. I had the reuban and they were very good. If they had more options like that, it would be a great restaurant.
