Booked Fantasmic dinner package but only had 4pm slot. Don't mind eating early (or really late lunch) but will miss Cars & Stars parade which I've never seen. Thinking of cancelling & booking 50s Prime Time or Sci Fi instead & taking my luck with Fantasmic seating. Which of those 2 would be more fun for DS13?

Thanks all

Ocky

I wouldn't take my chances.

We've always done Mama Melrose on the Fantasmic Package. It is one of the most under rated restaurants at Disney!

Good Luck in your choice.

Hmm... that's a tough question. I would say 50 Primetime. The "Mom's and Brothers" are so funny. Sci Fi is not a great place to have a family discussion over dinner since you sit in cars; which means a few people sit in the front seats and the others sit in the back seats. I do believe you can ask for a picnic table though (correct me if I'm wrong). I have never done the Fantasmic dinner plan and never had a problem getting seats, you have to be in line pretty early though. Also make sure the day you pick to see Fantasmic it is not going to rain, one time I was there they had to call off the show for the safety of the characters.

Well, here's a vote for Sci Fi -- I think a 13 yo would love it, and would appreciate the "down" time (being able to be in the car, watch the goofy movies, laugh and enjoy). While we love 50's Prime Time, the reality is that the "fun" isn't there for those so young that the 50s and 60s are simply ancient history (and not a fond memory) -- our DS, 8, goes along for the ride at 50s but wonders what the fuss is all about. Bottom line -- if the point is really for your 13 yo to have fun, go for Sci Fi.

Prime Time all the way! We did both last trip, they're both great places to try but we prefer Prime Time. Having said that though, we're going to both places next trip so it's just too hard to decide!!

I don't care for 50's prime time. The decor was fun but we didn't end up with a good server which is supposed to be part of the fun. Our food was just "OK". Really we walked out unsatisfied!

We love Sci-fi - good burgers and shakes and are doing it again this year for dinner!

So that's 1 for staying as we are, 2 for Prime Time and 2 for Sci Fi! There's only the 2 of us so the Sci Fi car won't be a problem. Think I might try for that - the photos on Allears look good. Being only 2 of us, we should be able to squeeze ourselves in somewhere for Fantasmic (I'm loathe to say "room for a little one?" - they'll know I'm lying :teeth: ).

Thanks again

Ocky

To be honest it depends on the server you get at 50's. We have had both and had fun goofing on others so it was fun both times. My boys love Sci Fi. We do both when there.

Here's my take;

Sci-Fi: The food is average to above-average but its a real fun place to eat. The cars, the movie screen, the "night time" and the milkshakes are fun.

Prime Time: One of the worst places to have a meal in WDW. The schtick is extremely annoying and the food is average. I would never eat here again.
