We really enjoyed it there in February and will be going back again for lunch next month.
We also did the Brown Derby Fantasmic dinner package on that same trip but not on the same day. The Brown Derby meal is a lot of food plus it is usually quite early in the day. Our "dinner" was at 3:00 p.m. My only concern is that going to both restaurants in one day is a lot of food for one short period of time.
Both of these meals are huge; could not do in the same day.
50's is a traditional favorite of mine. Good old, unhealthy, home cooked style food. It's the only time I ever have fried chicken. The smores dessert is also one of my favorite WDW things.
Thanks for the replies. Glad to hear that it's still good food!
We are on the DxDP and definitely do not want to miss Brown Derby, but we don't have another day at this park. I was thinking 11:00am for 50's Prime Time with just snacks for breakfast and 6:30pm for Brown Derby.
Too funny. If I had to guess, I would say that 80-90% of the fried chicken and 75% of the milkshakes I have had over the past 10 years have been at 50's.
I have been to 50's Prime Time Cafe multiple times for both lunch and dinner which has always been great. Their food has always tasted very good and I love it's theme how the servers tell you the "rules" of the restaurant.
Going there my first time every for dinner this upcoming trip. Very much looking forward to it, more so with everyone's positive vibes in this thread. Want to try a PB&J Shake very much!
I love it. While the food isn't the best you'll have on your vacation, it's still very good. However, going there for food is wrong; you definitely should go for the experience. The waiters and waitresses are hilarious and the entire atmosphere is amazing.
Tips: Go for dinner and plan to go right after the park closes. Whenever I go I hit a couple last minute rides on Rock n Rollercoaster and Tower of Terror and then head over. It will not be empty, but as the night goes on you'll realize you're one of a few groups there. That's when the servers are at their funniest. They're getting ready to close and have few people there and they often go wild.
Remember to keep your elbows off the table
Lunch at 50s Prime Time is traditional for me, although the last time I ate there was October 2010. I love the Chicken pot pie, but I hear raves about other things also.
I just ate at 50's PT for the first time about a month ago. The Fried Chicken was really good, and the Chocolate Malt was the best milkshake I have ever had!
