We finally made it into this fun restaurant. The atmosphere was fun, the service was great (Uncle Tim) and the food was actually pretty excellent. I had the meatloaf and I was pretty suprised at how tasty it was. My son ordered the kids sundae and Uncle Tim brought out all of the toppings in little cups so my son could make his own.

A teenager next to us got a little too sassy with Uncle Tim and he made her stand nose first against the wall for a minute or two. It was great. I'm sure Uncle Tim does that 20 times a day to someone but it was still funny.

Yay! I love Prime Time! :goodvibes My favorite is the potroast, but I've never tried the meatloaf. So glad to hear you had a good time! The herb cheese appy is another favorite... :lovestruc

I am thinking about making a reservation for PTC, but other than Aunt or Uncle so-and-so and the fact that they serve home-like food, what else is it about this place that makes it so much fun and/or unique? I saw a picture where it looked like the table was in a kitchen area with a tv. Is this right?

My family and i will be going to Disney World at the end of July. I want to try the 50's prime time cafe. Do you recommend making reservations?

Absolutely make reservations for this place! My family has eaten here on our last 2 trips and it is our favorite!

I'm so glad to hear it's fun again. We used to love PTC, but last year it was pretty boring and it wasn't even that busy.

When PTC is on, it is great. The server can really enhance your experience here.

The decor is all set like 50's kitchens. there are tv's everywhere, old style tvs showing disney clips from the 50s.

The best things, IMO, are the meatloaf, pot roast and fried chicken. Tasty, home style food. Nothing pretentious, simple things. The pot roast reminds me of sunday dinner at my grandmothers when I was growing up. Comfort food.

We have skipped it the last couple trips. Not great the last time we were there in Jan 2007 I think. Our order was brought to us within 10 minutes of ordering. It was obviously already made and just plopped out. Our dinner took then than 30 minutes. Not at all relaxing, felt like I was eating in a cafeteria. Haven't been back since.

Glad to see positive reviews. We have lots of great experiences there, my dad was made to wear a bib, he had to stand in the corner another time, some nice trips.

I would love to see my husband in a bib and made to stand in a corner! :rotfl: That could be a major highlight for me during our time at WDW this year!! :rotfl2:

:lmao: It is pretty funny! We had a party of 8 for my parents 40th anniversary, Ihad shared how the restaurant was. Well, my Dad is a tattle tale. He kept squealing on people, you know, he had his elbows on the table, she didn't....etc.

Our server told him nobody likes a tattle tale and put him in the corner. Now, keep in mind, Dad eats this stuff up and had a great time. :rotfl2: They don't do this to everyone, thank goodness!!

Hi All,

We eat at PTC on every trip to the World. My favorite dish is the chicken pot pie, Mmmmm. Like anywhere, some servers are better than others, but we have always been fortunate to get the ones who play into their parts. For the wonderful comfort foods alone, and large portions, I highly recommend adding PTC to your list of "must dine". :thumbsup2

Later kids,

Marcia

Isn't this the restaurant where the waitresses tell you to eat your veggies and you eat at like an old fashioned kitchen table??

This sounds like fantastic fun :lmao: -I'm definitely going to make an ADR for our next trip. I'm really not sure how I'll decide between the meat loaf and pot roast though.....I'd better start thinking it over now.:) or go twice:rolleyes1

I made my ADR's for here - I'm looking forward to the fried chicken!! And the waitress telling me to eat my veggies. I hope my DS5 will like it too!!

This place is great for the whole family! Our cousins at the next table kept getting in trouble. My DD 15 had greens on her plate and of course I ate them while our Uncle was not watching but someone must have told! Because when he came back to the table he checked under her chicken and there was just a few left:headache: . So when it came time for desert he brought her Greens with whipped cream and sprinkles! She at first was shocked  but when she realized it was a joke she laughed:lmao: ! Of course My DH and DD 12 and I was rolling at the look on her face!:rotfl:

Yay, glad you had fun here, and a good meal too!! :D

We had a blast at PTC. The food was great. We had a good server. Would definitly go back.

This is one of my husbands favorite places to eat! We have always had great food and super service here. This is on our MUST do list every visit to Disney....

the food is quite good also...apple cobbler was fantastic...:cool1:

Hey all!

We're considering this TS for our next trip in January. My question is this: do they allow you to substitute the veggies on the the plate for different ones? I'm looking at the fried chicken (I basically LIVE on chicken...can't eat pork, and don't eat a lot of red meat), but the vegetable offering is really kind of turning me off:sick: . I don't think I could willingly eat "greens," let alone be fed them by the server.....I'm pretty sure there would be a "mess" to clean up if you know what I mean.

Until next time,
John
