I know I asked this about a year ago, but I cannot for the life of me remember or find another post that addresses this - sorry!
I had any AP last year that I let lapse instead of renewing as we weren't going to be back for at least two months (lol, our life is so hard
). Now, we plan on a trip in about a month and I know I'll be buying a ticket beforehand just so I can have something in hand to go into the park with (and upgrade at my leisure).
I know the tricks about using the EE/MM's, so that's not what my question is about
.
Previously I have purchased through AAA, which gives a discounted price (I think a 3 day hopper is like $162 or so?). But I can't remember how it works with the value difference when you pay for your AP. Is it the price printed on the ticket the price DL uses to determine the difference you pay for the AP? Or do they just say, hey, our price for a 3-day hopper is 180ish, so you have 180 credit and you owe us the rest?
Mainly, is it worth shopping around for a better price so I can, in essence, get a "discounted" AP? My work is actually offering this fabulous deal - $116 for an adult 3 day hopper. So if I could get the 3 day hopper cheap and use it towards the AP... see where I'm going with this?
I think this whole post is in vain and the price that is printed on all tickets is the credit you get towards your upgrade. But it's worth a shot
. Thanks for reading!!!
