500 gift card

We will be going next week and we were lucky to get another room on this code that will also have the $500 gift card. The other room guest is not an AP holder like us and will be using the card to upgrade the ticket. Just wondering if anyone has done this. When visiting the Gift card section on WDW site, it says the card may be used for this but has anyone done this? Thank you for any input on this!

Yes, my son was able to use the gift card to upgrade his one day pass. We are however having a problem getting the 10% off now since we, as AP holders didn't get our Mickey Monitor with the referral cards to give to someone purchasing an AP from May 1-July 31. The CM NEVER mentioned the promotion even though they knew we were AP holders already. If you are going to do this make sure you get a referral card from a current AP holder. I don't have the monitor yet but hopefully I will have it in the next few days. I don't know what will happen with the 10% off that is owed to my son. Each AP holder is supposed to get 4 of the referral cards each good for 6 APs. If you need one, once I get the Monitor, I will send one out to you.
