why do i have to post 50 threads before i can listed. a post to rent my points?

I believe the requirement is for 50 posts (not threads) over the course of the last 6 months, and thus also having been a fully registered member here for at least 6 months. The reason for this is because our Rent Trade boards are a service for our contributing members. We have thousands of posters that are here on a regular basis, get to know others, help answer questions and generally participate in our boards. We want to be sure that those renting points here have a positive history on our boards.

You won't be able to meet the 50 post requirement by just posting a bunch of things (smilies, junk posts like "me too" , "good idea" and "have fun") in rapid succession. It is the history and the contribution that is looked for.

I think that there are other non Disboards options for those that would like to rent their points but do not meet the requirements to list them here. I am sure that someone on the DVC boards can help point you in the right direction.

I will ask a DVC Moderator to come by and make sure I have not given you any incorrect information. I hope you decide to stick around and join our community and you will find that it is very easy to contribute 50 posts in the course of 6 months.

The info lovetoscrap gave is accurate. The DVC R/T board was never intended to be a free for all clearing house of DVC rentals, it was envisioned as a place where active, posting members of the DIS community could rent unused points or reservations to others members of the community.

Posting also creates a history that we encourage your potential customers to review. You can really get a feel for someones personality by reading posts they have made over a span of time.

Currently, we are allowing people to "catch up" to the 50 posts, but they still must spread them out over 7 to 10 days. However, beginning February 1st, we will only be checking the previous 6 months of posting activity for 50 non-Rent/Trade posts, and looking for a pattern of consistent activity spread over the course of those 6 months.

The DVC Moderators invite you to post your 50 non-Rent/Trade posts over the course of 7 to 10 days, and remain active by posting an average of 2 posts per week to maintain your ability to use our R/T Board.
