$50 change fee?

A friend of mine booked a Disney package for this fall. She was told that if in the future she tries to not make it package and book just the room separately, there is a $50 fee to change it. (She called Disney directly to book.) Is this true?

I had mentioned to her that she should try to get the AAA discount on the room portion since I didn't think a AAA discount could be applied to a package booked through Disney.

I was told the same thing...I did change out reservation and they did not charge me anything.

You are only charged the $50 if you make changes 45 days or less prior to check-in.

A WDTC package requires a $200 deposit within 14 days of booking. The balance will be due 45 days prior to check in. Cancellation between 6 and 45 days prior to arrival will result in a $100 fee. Cancellation 5 days or less will incur a $200 fee. Any change or modification of the reservation INSIDE the 45 day mark will incur a $50.00 fee.
