Our last trip to was in November 2003. My kids were 9 mos, almost 3, and 6. It was the first year they offered the deal for Active duty military. We lived in Georgia at the time so we were driving. Our room at All Star Sports was $300 for 6 nights and it was only $200 for 5 day tickets for us all (my husband and 2 little ones were free). We skimped on everything. The only souvenir we bought the kids were the moue ears. We brought most of our own food. I didn't even know there was such a thing as character dining. ..... 5years later
My husband is deployed to Iraq for the second time. He is coming home for his R&R on March 22nd and I came up with the great idea that we should go to disney. His leave miraculously falls during my kids spring break.
I found this board a couple months ago and since then I am on here everyday. LOL. I have created a photopass swap and a stroller swap. Also booked character dinings for pretty much every day during our stay. And also been stocking up on pins from ebay.
We are staying at POR March 26th-April 3. We are doing the military deal again which is for 5 day park hopper tickets. We also are going to go to Sea World 1 day (we will only have to pay for 1 ticket with their military special). We are also going to go to Universal for 1 day (I got 5 tickets with points from coke rewards).
So it is going to be alot different from the last time we were there. I am really excited. I told my husband that he better hope that his flight isn't delayed getting here cuz we would be leaving on the 26th with or without him.
Did I forget to mention the fact that my kids don't know! My husband and I are going to surprise them. We decided that when they get home from school the day before our trip we are going to have a scavenger hunt for them. I haven't figured out the first few but we are going to send them to find a stuffed pluto and he is going to have a note that says he wants to go on vacation, and to go get him a suitcase. We are going to have Mouse ear balloons filled with helium in the suitcase with a note attached saying pack your bags we are going to disney tomorrow.
It is kind of hard not telling them. But I think the surprise effect of it will be worth it.
