I just booked using my DVC Points a Standard View Room at the DLH. There are 5 adults going but we only put 4 on the reservation because the MS rep informed me that only 4 would fit in a standard room. I have been looking at boards and other locations that state 5 could be accommodated in one room with 2 queen beds and a sleeper sofa. Has anyone else stayed at DLH and have had 5 in one room? I messaged Member Services to request a room with a sleeper sofa/chair but now I'm wondering if I should just try to see if I can add her to reservation. - Thoughts?

DVC Members are limited to which room types they will book us into on DVC points. I do recall in the past that they would not book a room with the extra sleeper sofa at DLH.

I have booked 5 in a standard room at the DLH on points. In my case it was 2 adults and 3 kids (Ages 3, 5, and 10 at the time) but not sure that would matter as only an "under 3" doesn't count. I would call back if I were you. See if you can at least get a request noted for 2Qs and a daybed or whatever they call it now with the remodel.

You are married to a DVC CM and you are trying to cheat the system? You need a bigger room or a second room. And everyone needs to be on the reservation. Unless No. Five is staying home.

Respectfully, I don't think she is trying to "cheat" the system. My family stays pretty regularly at the DLH and I can assure you they have standard rooms that do sleep 5. The issue is whether or not those standard rooms are available to book for points. In my case, I was able to book a standard room, with all 5 names on the reservation for points, in the OPs case, they told her she could not. I am not sure of the official answer on this and neither is the OP which I think is why she posted here.

The "under 3" rule doesn't apply in Disneyland.

All standard rooms in Disneyland sleep 5. We've even been allowed 6 since 2 were under 3, the CM just "neglected" to include our youngest on our reservation.

I would have sworn that DVC Members were limited to 4 in the room at DLH. Hmmm, will have to check the DVC Member Website when I get off work. Perhaps things have changed?

We have stayed at DLH more times than I can count. I have not been there since the remodel, but typically the room has a day bed. We have had five persons stay in the room many times. Sometimes I don't put everyone's name on the reservation because I don't know who exactly may be going when making the reservation. I don't believe the hotel has a major issue with that. I have never been asked at check in where the persons have changed. I'm sure they do it for legal reasons, but also so that they can purchase tickets, dining, etc. for your party. I don't think anyone is trying to cheat the system.

A DVC stay may be different. But the actual hotel room occupancy is 5.

I have stayed twice at DLH and had the two queen beds and day bed in both rooms on points. The last time was for the 50th anniversary party at DL so things may have changed now. They even gave us a rollaway bed besides the second time which we didn't need so sent it back. Just came across the pictures from the room the other day looking over the pool. It really was a wonderful time and the room was great.

Thanks for all the replies. I called back later that afternoon and asked to add another adult to reservation and MS did it with no problem, no questions asked. At no point was I trying to "cheat any system" but because I had read other threads where there were 5 in the DLH rooms I was just confused by what the first person at MS said. So, we are booked, on points, 5 adults at DLH in October! So excited. it will be my first trip to DL after going to WDW for my entire life.

Not trying to cheat system at all. Just trying to clarify room capacity at a DLH since I am pretty much only familiar with WDW. This would be my first time going out to DL.

So glad it worked out for you - Hope you have a wonderful trip. I love the DLH and really enjoyed out stay there on points more than the nights we were at the GC in 2005. I went to DL the week it opened in 1955 and then went back for the 50th. (We lived two miles from the main entrance when it opened WDW many times and will go many more but DL does hold a special place in my memories and my heart.

I'm happy it all worked out.

I too have had many reservations on points where I've added a person at the last minute at check in as the rooms with 2 queens and a daybed hold up to five.
