Hi, apologies if this has been asked before (i have searched)but does anyone know if the main Disney Hotels will accept 5 of us in one room.

I'm travelling with Hubby, our little boy who's 3, my brother (15) and my Sister in Law (22)

We're currently booked in to stay at the DCR but as the driving to and from the parks etc is bothering us a bit, we're looking into changing our booking and moving to one of the main hotels instead and making use of the shuttles.

We're not penny-pinching by the way, as changing our booking means paying more money :)

Anyway, S-I-L and my little bro are happy to have the bunk beds and we were going to take the double, with the little' un sleeping in with us.

I've looked at the Explorer as a possibility and will be costing that up on Monday when i call the agents i booked through but would appreciate any info on whether the main hotels would be able to accomodate us.

Many thanks

Lisa x

Options are limited I'm afraid, family rooms sleep 5 at the Newport Bay or Disneyland Hotel or 2 rooms at the other hotels, I also remember someone mentioning booking a family room at the New York but that was a while ago and don't think that was confirmed.
When we went in November it was cheaper to have 2 rooms at Sequoia Lodge than a family room at the Newport Bay Club.
Other than that the Explorers always seems to be a very popular choice for larger families. :)

We have used the Explorers many times - the bunk room is great as it gives a little more privacy and a bit more space :goodvibes

Lisa, if driving from DCR is not to your liking then the Explorers is an excellent alternative for a family of 5 :)

Bear in mind though from Explorers you then have to use shuttle busses. At least with your car you can set off when you want and return when you want without the scum of the busses.

Also, bear in mind that you won't get the perk of EMH if you stay at the Explorers (unless you buy Dream APs).

As a lover of DCR i wouldn't change. We've always found the drive easy & has left the parks for a break & returned later in the day with no hassle.

I definately wouldn't swap if it meant having to share a bedroom with another adult when at DCR you will have separate rooms.

Hi, thanks for the replies :)

I've had instructions from the Hubby to;

1. Stop panicking
2. Stop ringing our travel agents to see what other hotel options are available
3. Stop panicking lol...

So we're off the the DCR as before but have upped the cabin to a 2 bed.

I think i'm more excited than my 3 year old :yay:
