5 people at WOC on 4 FPs

I'm lucky enough, if you call it that, to finally be invited to a corporate meeting next week. Well, that office is right next to the Honda Center in Anaheim and I'm getting a free hotel at Ayers over there. Not real close, I know, but I can shuttle. And since we all have APs.....

My question is this. My family will come down with me and hit the parks while I'm in the budget talks which means one day at DCA they'll be getting WOC FP tickets without me there. Will the CMs later that day be kind enough to let me in with the family if say they get blue and I later get a yellow? Or if they have 4 Blue tickets and I can't get one at all? Don't know if anyone's ever experienced this or not.

I think so. One time my family went to the machine at the same time and got different sections. The CM was able to get us altogether.

There are different scenarios being discussed in this thread:
1) The OP's family has blue FPs and he has a yellow FP
2) The OPs family has FPs and he does not have a FP

I agree that when you get to the parks, if they still have FPs, there is a fairly good chance that the CMs at the WoC FP distribution location can exchange your family's FPs for the currently being distributed showtime/color. It's less likely that the CMs will be able to give you a FP for the showtime/color group that your family already. I think they have provisions in place for groups that are separated because the machines clicked over while they were getting their FPs, but the OPs situation is different (he'll be getting his FP at a markedly different time in the day).

The other scenario seems a lot more iffy to me. I would not count on being allowed to enter any of the FPs areas without having a valid FP for that area. You might get lucky and get a CM that is willing to forgo the rules, but you stand just as good a chance of getting a CM that will not allow you to enter the incorrect FP area.

Don't know if this would work but, my son and I arrived at WOC just as they were letting the standby lines go to get their places just before the show started. I do believe they said " Stand-by for Blue and Yellow, You are free to go and find places for the show." Well we quickly went to the yellow section and got a great place at the railing! The reason I mention this is because maybe your family could get their places in their section and you find them to watch the show once they open the stand-by line? That is if there is no other way to do it?

Here's my suggestion. I would give your wife your AP. Have the family go to The Chamber of Commerce and explain the situation and ask if they can activate your pass for the day, enabling them to get FPs for WOC. If the Chamber can't do that, they may have another option for you. I'm sure you are not the first in this situation, so they may very well have a process in place for it.

If the Chamber can't do that, they may have another option for you. I'm sure you are not the first in this situation, so they may very well have a process in place for it.

This is what I'm going to say. I think they will be understanding and appreciate your honesty and trying not to trouble the CM during hectic times.
Or you could do what PP said and have them save you a space (or just spread out a little) until it opens for standbys. This is assuming you are not 10 feet tall and blocking someone's view who had been waiting for an hour.

In the past when everyone in my group has had blue and one or two people has had yellow, the CMs happily switched out the yellows for blues. If they dont just had the CM at the top of the blue section all of the FPs at once, they usually only look at the top FP

If the majority of your group has a FP they will let you go through.
For example, four guests have four FP's, but one does not. They will let you through.
Just have one person hand all of the FP's at one time.

We just did this last week. All but one person in our group was in the park (the other person was driving up from San Diego). Before we got fast passes for WOC we asked and were told that as long as most of the people in our group had a fast pass we would all be allowed in. It worked for us, but the cast member letting us in did hesitate, so it may not always work.

Tuesday night is the plan. Plans change on short trips, but we're shooting for that. Will there be some Starshine at WOC that night?

We will be in the parks that day! I'm not sure if we are going to WOC that night or not (BIL is going with, and he does want to see the new show, but I'm not sure if Tuesday is the night). I was thinking the same as TechGuy, maybe we could help you out by pulling a FP for you and getting it to you later in the day?

We could even pull the FP and leave it for you some place "secret". I don't know if City Hall will hold it but we can certainly place it in a planter near WCT or...

We have reservations on Wednesday for CC and WOC. So, I would certainly be able to pull a ticket.
