My DS15's church youth group is having a party on Saturday and everyone is supposed to bring a $5 gift for the Take Mine game. I guess it is one of those games where people "fight" over gifts. Any ideas for something fun that teens would want that $5 or less?

$5 starbucks gift card?

No Starbuck's in our city. A gift card is my fallback option, but I'd rather have something interesting....

humpf sorry I'm not "interesting"

Bag of assorted candy is always a big one at our teens' gift swap
They do do alot of gift cards
Quirky wierd toys (singing hamsters, wind up animals, crazy little silly things)

humpf sorry I'm not "interesting"

I probably won't be too much more interesting either but here goes:

a small plush/stuffed toy --maybe with a local team's logo?

a mini snack basket--- one pk microwave popcorn, a candy bar, and other snack type stuff you might buy that you can take one item out of (fruit roll ups, snack cakes, chips, etc.) or make it all Christmas themed candy -Reese's tree, etc from the Christmas candy aisle. Walgreens and CVS are great for this.

What about a five dollar movie from the Walmart $5.00 bin? (attach a pack of microwave popcorn)

itunes gift card..may not be too intersting but something most teens would like
is it boys and girls? tech decks for boys
lipsticks for girls
ticket for the movies if you can even buy them for $5 anymore :confused3

Sometimes really random things prove to be popular at those - what about a National Enq. or similar magazines?

Children's toys (ah the nostalgia) can be popular.

Some nicely scented hand sanitizer? (Bath and Body has some good ones)

Coloring book and crayons (my college students still love coloring)

Can you make a fleece blanket for 5 bucks? Maybe if JoAnn still has it on-sale

Big jar of pickles

5 boxes of Little Debbies (which would make a nice big package)

5 bucks worth of candy! Make a big bag of gummy fish, worms, fun dip, tootsie rolls etc etc.

or

maybe some fun holiday themed hat, something silly like antlers or maybe a santa hat. For 5 bucks, it just needs to be something the kids will get a kick out of for the day

As the Mom of a 15 year old (I just asked her), she said iTunes or Starbucks Gift Card. :)

She said 5 songs or 2 Mint Mocha Chip Frappuccino's is an AWESOME gift! ;)

Five Below has lots of cool stuff for.........$5 bucks and under! If you have one near you I would check them out.

A big bucket of Double Bubble!

Playing cards.

An LED Flashlight - they have them at Lowe's and Ace Hardware.

A DVD - they have some inexpensive ones.

Check the basckets at TRU or Best Buy or the end Cap at Target. When I was there a week ago they had Wii, DS, PS3 XBox and PSP games for about that price. Best Buy had a ton of them. This was before BF tho.

Ooooh I got it :woohoo: A Screaming Flying Monkey: http://www.amazon.com/Slingshot-Fli...e=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1259763071&sr=8-5

Or a Chicken http://www.amazon.com/Slingshot-Flying-Chicken-Cockadoodle-Scream/dp/B000IZB8EY/ref=pd_bxgy_t_img_b

:lmao: These things are a riot. They really do scream as they go flying thru the air. The kids each got one as a stocking stuffer last year. :rotfl2:

Since there isn't a Starbucks, I would go with iTunes! Maybe you can find an interesting way to package it.

5 Baskin Robbins gift certificates!

5 Movie theater size boxes of candy

5 pairs of those Fuzzy socks! DD loves these!

A spa basket made up of $1.00 bath lotions ect.

A nail basket. Manicure set and nail polish.

Plastic pop corn box from Dollar tree with a Blockbuster giftcard,Movie size candy and Microwave popcorn. (It may cost you $7 but no one will complain)

It definitely depends if it is a wrapped gift or unwrapped. If wrapped, the key is to make it an interesting shape. A giftcard is a nice gift but it needs to go in an interesting shaped box so everyone will fight over it.

How about a "retro" kid toy? Slinky or rubik's cube? Scratch off lottery tickets are always popular w/my kids but not sure if that would be considered appropriate for church. Gas card? I like the goofy holiday idea, sometimes the silliest items go over best.

michael's craft store or the dollar store have glow in the dark bracelets.

nail polish.

itunes card

candy

holiday socks

fuzzy socks

visit the dollar bins at Target.

fun pens/pencils

a holiday mug filled with candy or cocoa packets
