5-Night Wonder Double Dip Delight Aug 8-13th

Having a bad week...love your pictures....thank you so much! I keep staring at them ;)

Hope your week improves........glad the pics are helping you feel better :goodvibes

I enjoyed your trip report. We will be going on our first one in April and I am really anxious. You did an awesome job on your pictures and I really love the picture of your daughter looking out of the porthole. It was really pretty.

Thanks. She LOVED those portholes.

Thank you for a very entertaining trip report. The pictures are truly awesome, Disney could use these in their advertising, they really show off the beauty of the Ship. Karyn

DH and I have talked about how they could use a few in marketing or advertising. In fact, some of his pics look better than the postcard they are selling!! Thanks for reading our TR!

Emily,

Thanks so much for your trip report! I have been going to DL and WDW since childhood and we are WDW AP holders, but have never done a cruise. My husband recently expressed interest in a cruise for 2012 last weekend, so the research begins! I've been through all the stickies and I'm just getting to the trip reports on this board, and yours is incredibly helpful! Although we have three boys, and our older two are pre-teens, our youngest is about the same age as your daughter. (And your daughter is absolutely adorable!) We also don't think we'll spend much time away from the kids, and I'm not sure about getting off the ship at Nassau, so your experiences with that and a pre-schooler were particularly interesting to us! And I love the photos and the detail!

And by the way, I also ordered salads as a child - even when my grandma took me to the Chocolate Factory expecting to buy ice cream! Our oldest is exactly the same as your daughter - loved clam chowder, salmon, scallops, and all sorts of items from the adult menu since he was tiny. Although we served and introduced the same foods to our two younger boys, no such luck! But once in a while their older brother can pester them into trying something new!

Anyway, looking forward to your 2011 reports! Please keep us updated!:):)

Wow. Thank you so much for the kind words. I am glad to be able to help in your research and planning. As far as not spending time away from the kids -- I agree. For us, it's a family vacation :cutie: I was actually surprised that she spent 5 hours over 5 days in the kids club, but as you read, except for Palo, it was her choice. Guess it's her vacation, too ;)

My Mom tells me that my favorite things to order on menus were 1) steamed mussels (which usually wored out well, since they were from the appetizer menu most times and it was a perfect portion), and 2) the salad bar. My favorite story was when she told me I was about 4, and looked right at the waitress and ordered "the salad bar and a Tab." Apparently, the waitress looked at her in disbelief, and she told her to bring it to me, as that's what I wanted. Mine is certainly a mini-me (we just had fresh roasted beets last night at dinner!) :goodvibes

Again, glad to help and I'd love to write another trip report again. It was a lot of fun to journal our trip. Keeps the memories fresh :)

I really enjoyed your TR and beautiful photos:goodvibes We are cruising DCL for the first time next Sept. and Iam enjoying reading all the trip reports to gain info. Yours is really outstanding..hope you write another after your next cruise!

I really enjoyed reading your trip report and LOVED the pictures. Your DD is so cute! Do you know what kind of camera your DH uses?

Thanks! You are a wonderful photographer; I really enjoyed looking at all your pictures from the cruise. Thank you for sharing with us.

I have a 6 year old Canon and I want to get something newer and better prior to my cruise. My BF's phone takes better quality pictures than my old Canon

Thanks to both of you. If DH is up for it, we will do another TR for our Jan 3-8 cruise, which is coming up soon!

your photographs are amazing. I will have to check out your camera.

Thanks for sharing your wonderful experience and your beautiful child.

Our next cruise is not till Aug. 2012

Hi! I just read your TR - I was looking for TRs on shorter cruises to try to get a clue as to formal nights and pirate night. We are booked on a 6 night West Coast Repo on the Wonder in April. I really enjoyed your report and your pictures - you have a beautiful family. Enjoy your next cruise in Jan!:yay:

Great pictures!!! Can you share what lens you used???

I used a few different lenes. This is a list of the lenses I had with me...
Nikon 35mm f/1.8G AF-S DX
Nikon 18-55mm f3.5-5.6G ED II AF-S DX
Nikon 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED IF AF-S DX VR

If there is a specific picture that you want to know more about just let me know. Most if not all indoor shots were taken with the 35mm. The wider shots were with the 18-55mm.

I just stumbled across your trip report. We were on the same cruise. In your first few pictures I thought you all looked familiar but couldn't exactly place where on the cruise I had seen you. Then I saw the pictures of your DD in her pirate outfit. We were in front of you to meet Stitch and I remember thinking how amazing her outfit was and complimenting you on it. I didn't know you were a Diser! Here we are on the same night.

... I remember thinking how amazing her outfit was and complimenting you on it.....

Thanks for reading the TR. We actually borrowed the outfit from another Diser/tablemates. DW made DD her very own pirate outfit for this past halloween and for future cruises that will debut in the next TR that we plan on doing for the Holiday Cruise.

I TOTALLY REMEMBER YOU GUYS!!!! I remember seeing the sailor outfit!!! I remember reading somewhere that you were in Tampa during the summer, too. I am from Lorain, OH, and DH is from Elyria, OH, and we lived in Dublin/Columbus OH for 10 years before moving to Tampa (We are OSU grads). How neat - small world!!!! All of us DISers should wear something to give ourselves away :cutie:

wow I'm so buying a new camera after seeing these shots...geez my shots look like my 2yr old took them!!!

Great TR..glad you pushed yourself to do the 5k at CC.

Funny - today, I was just looking at my WDW wedding pictures from 2005, and laughing at the terrible quality

I decided to start running again - I am actually running (well, jogging) a 5K (3.2 miles) two-three days a week. Surprisingly, although I hate running, it's actually a refreshing change :p
