We are thinking about a 5 Night Western Cruise w/ a stop at Cozumel and two days at sea 7/6/2020. The other option is to do another 7 Night Eastern cruise 8/8/2020. Both are on the Fantasy. We just did the 7 Night Eastern in 2017. We have been on two 4 Night Dream Cruises in 2011 & 2013. After recently doing the 7 Night Cruise will a 5 Night be enough for us....thoughts??? Thanks!!!

I would do the five night Western because it’s a different itinerary that you haven’t done and also because usually July is a little better hurricane wise than August.

I agree, 5 night Western because it is at the beginning of the hurricane season and there are new ports to visit. Yes, 5 is less than 7, but you know your way around the ship and where everything is located and the events taking place. So you can go directly to your Navigator and plan out your days on the ship and reserve your excursions when your time opens up online.

I would always opt for a longer cruise when possible, even with some/all of the same ports. Our last cruise was only 5 nights and seemed a little short, our upcoming cruise is only 6 nights and I'm bummed again but that was the longest available on the dates we are able to go. There are also some events/benefits only available on 7 night or longer.

I have found that as long as you go into it with the right mindset (as in not going in bemoaning that it is “only x nights” and “it will be so short”) you can have just as good a time on a shorter cruise as on a longer one. Focus on what you are doing, not what you are missing.

Only the OP can truly make a decision. A shorter but new itinerary with the right mindset about it or a slightly longer but repetitive itinerary. Personally I would go with the new itinerary - but I know how to enjoy a shorter cruise without constantly thinking “This is so much shorter” than longer cruises I have been on.

I always go for as many nights as possible.
You stated the 5 night stopped at Cozumel. Is that and Castaway Cay the only stops?
Is it noticeably less - giving up 2 nights? Price per night comparison?

While August is more into hurricane season it is very early.

Personally I'd pick Eastern without a second thought. I prefer longer AND I like Cozumel but I prefer EASTERN ports.

Hurricane season doesn't tend to really gear up until late August, so unless it's going to be a very unusual year, you should be in the clear as far as hurricanes are concerned. There might be a higher chance of heavy rain & storms in general, though.

Personally, I am not a huge fan of the Caribbean islands & wouldn't much care which we visited, so I'd go with the 7-night. Both cruises will go to CC, and longer is geberally better.
