On mouseowncom it says that the DVC has an unofficial policy of allowing 5 people to stay in the 1 bdrm villas. Does anyone know if this is true and if it is, will you get 5 room keys for extra magic hours and can you sign up 5 for the dining plan since "official" number in the room is suppose to be 4?

Thanks!

It seems to be true, but you will NOT get extra bedding for the 5th person nor extra towels. You would need to bring an air matress on your own, since the resort does not have roll away beds.

If you rent through CRO (and pay cash to Disney), they will only allow 4 plus one under the age of three. If you use points, they will allow 5, but like Diane said, no extra bedding or towels. A one bedroom at OKW has one king sized bed and one queen sized sleeper sofa. There is also a small love seat that does not convert into a bed. You'll get four bath towels, two hand towels and four face cloths.

So far this thread is OK as it is discussing what DVC is currently doing regards the 5 in a 1-B/R unit which they have been allowing recently.

If the thread turns into a debate as to whether 5 should be allowed or not, what the POS says, etc, thus turning into an occupancy debate....

....then that's when it will get locked.

Meanwhile, if anyone knows the answer to the keys and the dining plan, I'm sure that not only the OP, but others would be interested in knowing.

The official occupancy for a 1BR at OKW is 4. You can have a 5th person in the villa if they are able to sleep in a pack & Play, so one would assume under the age of 3.

Anything you hear beyond that is speculation, CMs who aren't following the rules and so forth.

That isn't to say that folks don't put more than 4 people in a 1BR @ OKW. The units are large, and if, for example, you are a family with 4 children, I could easily see Mom and Dad in the bedroom, 2 kids on the pullout couch in the livingroom and 2 kids on the floor on a blow up mattress...there is that much floor space. Make sure you bring your own linens for the blow up, because you shouldn't get any from Mousekeeping.
