Does anyone know if they allow 5 in a value 1 bdr at AKV...?? We just stayed in 2 value studios and for the pts it is so worth it.. One of us had a savannah view and my husband across the hall with the boys had a parking lot view...

No. Unless one is under 3.

You can only sleep 5 in the 1 bedroom rooms at BLT and AKV right now. At AKV, only the standard view, savannah view, and concierge 1 bedroom booking categories will sleep 5. The reason the value rooms at AKV won't sleep 5 is because they aren't big enough to have the sleeper chair.

I do believe that Disney is adding the sleeper chair to some of the resorts that used to only sleep 4 in the one bedrooms... I think they are adding it now to OKW as part of it's ongoing renovation. I wouldn't be surprised if Disney started adding it to all the other one bedroom rooms at most or all of the other resorts during their next refurb.

OKW has gotten the sleeper chair as well, but from what I understand, it is the only one that will. All the other older resorts are not big enough in the living area to accommodate it.

I believe they've been added at Vero beach too.

DVC told me that a 1br at SSR 'can accommodate 5 people there is just not bedding for 5' so for us it will work - 3 adults and 2 girls age 7&8 and small for their age.
I would think that depending on your boys age, it shouldn't be a problem, if you are like us, you are never in the room for anything but sleeping.

I don't think they will allow you to book a value 1bedroom for 5 people. It's smaller than the other 1bedrooms, and I don't think "yes, but we don't provide bedding" applies. I hope someone who has had 5 in one tells us.

Not the AKV Value one bedroom. That is strictly four plus one under the age of three.

I even had a hard time convincing member services I could book a 1bed savanna view (Jambo) for 5.:confused3

I actually had to call my guide and check to see if something changed. The CM was downright rude.

Then you hang up and call again. Or ask for a supervisor.

Exactly, funny thing is she picked up the second time I called and I had HER check with a supervisor. Actually I just said I don't know who you need to check that with but I will hold on while you do so.

We just came back from both AKV and BCV. we had 5 people in both. Me and DW, my niece 20, her husband 21 and my DD 9.

We had no problem with the one bedroom at both. AKV has a lot of room in the one bedroom. Two bathrooms, that was sweet. BCV is stated for only 4.

The savanna view was awesome!

Unfortunately, you are talking about a 1 bedroom at Kidani, and YES, those do accommodate 5. The OP was asking about a Value 1 bedroom at Jambo, and NO, those do NOT accommodate 5.

Why are 5 allowed in a 1 BR at BCV but not value Jambo ? BCV doesnt have the pull out chair/bed either.

Likely room size is the reason. The value units are smaller in square footage than the other units. It may be based on fire codes.

Since this thread is branching out from a single quick question, I'm going to close it and refer everyone to the existing "room occupancy thread" where you may continue the discussion if you wish.
