Thanks Julie  .... that made my morning.

We're actually digging out our basement. We live in a 1800's Victorian home that had a dirt floor and turning it into liveable space, we're digging down (OK, they are ). When we first moved in about 12 years or so ago, George built on to our home and doubled the size of it. He'd done a concrete crawl space in the new portion and now we're making it all one huge space. What they were doing all day long was jack hammering out the concrete from the crawl space. As of now, they're half done.

George has been chomping at the bit to do this for years and Alex is anxious to have it done because it will essentially be a space for him and a bit of privacy -- teenager and all that. I'm wanting it done soon because all my living room furniture is going down there and I get all new stuff!

Tracy that sounds amazing...you should share some pix's...I know that feeling of new furniture...we have a ranch home w/ a full basment...HUGE it is the whole length of our home. Matt and I want to buy new LR furniture and send the old sectional downstairs for more seating...but our stair well is so narrow going down, Matt will have to take off the apolstery on the couch and cut it in half to get it down and put it back together againh...crazy huh? ;)

Preliminary Plans

So I think it is time for an update on this PTR. My comments are red and Tracy’s are dark green – makes for easier reading!

Both Tracy and I will be staying at Pop from September 23 – October 1st in a standard room. (We added an extra day to the beginning of the trip – woot!) We also have the regular dining plan, so 8TS and 8CS and 8 snacks!
Dining

Here are the ADR’s we want for this trip. We’ll be making the ADRs for all six of us, but both of us will call to better our chances of the times we want.

I will make the following for:

Mama Melrose Fantasmic Dinner package (this is my brother’s birthday the big 40) Do you know if we can make this online for our 180+10? Does anyone know what times you can book this for?

1900 Park Fare dinner

Crystal Palace (I always seem to have this as a last park day breakfast)

Tusker House with Donald (new for me!!!) Those that are following my Nov/Dec TR know this will be our second time at Tusker House – we loved it!

Tracy will make these:

Cinderella’s Royal Table (this will be the dinner to celebrate Ariana and Emma’s birthdays)

Chef Mickey’s (this will be on Ariana’s Birthday)

We know we want to get a cake for the girls’ birthdays, but for Ariana, right now I’m not sure if we should get it for our celebration at CRT, or have it on her actual birthday when we’re at Chef Mickey’s. It would certainly fit to have it in the Castle all dolled up in her Cinderella costume (does anyone know if the Princesses would sing Happy birthday for you? Ariana would be in HEAVEN if they did) but on the day of her birthday it would also be nice to have something for her then…..
I want to look into it a bit more. Anyone have any suggestions?

Our ADR date is March 27th which is a Sunday!!! I love when ADR day is on a weekend! I know I will be up before the sun ready to book some ADR’s!
We have no refillable mugs with the Dining Plan so I will purchase 2, one for each of the girls.

I’ll purchase three of them in the different colours – pink for Ariana, blue for Demetri and yellow for me. They’ll be great souvenirs and perfect for those times by the pool. Demetri loves iced tea and Ariana will be content with water. I know it seems a bit of a waste to get it just for water, but she’ll love it.

Has everyone seen pictures of the new mugs they have? I love them and Emma will love the Pink one!

Room

As for our rooms, we have linked our reservations and are going to request building 3 in the 50’s area. We will also ask for close to Classic Hall. The rooms on the lake side of this building are not preferred so that is what we are hoping for, then it will be a quick walk to Classic Hall, buses and the Hippy Dippy pool. Emma really wants to spend some time swimming in the Hippy Dippy pool this year since it will be warm for this trip!

I’m really looking forward to all the swimming down time at the resort too. As much as I try to plan for it, we never seem to relax as much as we’d like. Lounging poolside in the warm Florida sun sounds heavenly right now!

MNSSHP

We are planning on going to MNSSHP this year but have recently been trying to decide if we want to do 2 of them. We are worried that we won’t see everything we want to if we only go to one party.

We are also having trouble planning our MNSSHP because of Toontown Closing and we are not sure where everything will be.

Does everyone think we should do 2 parties?

Emma wants to go to the party as Ariel (in her human dress, which I will have to buy at the park)
Eryka wants to go as Rapunzel (she just got the dress for her birthday)
If we do a second party I am sure Eryka will go as Cinderella and Emma as Tink.

We’ll probably know more if we’ll do one or two as details of the MNSSHP parties start coming out but I think it’d be fun doing two. One show can be all about meeting the characters and dance parties, while the other is about trick or treating and all the shows, or something like that – and both of them would be about seeing the parade and Hallowishes!

Ariana will also be Cinderella and Demetri right now wants to be a pirate. I was considering having a warm-weather-friendly Snow White costume made for Ariana but decided against it – we already have the Cinderella costume and it would be a little costly to get the second one. When we were looking at all the different character costumes on line, Demetri kept changing his mind… “oo I want to be Peter pan… oh wait, I want to be Buzz… oh no, Jack Sparrow!” I will have to buy his costume as he’s outgrown last year’s Pirate outfit so it’ll be interesting to see what he finally decides on!
If we did the second party, I think they’d either stay the same or maybe I’ll find a DISign for tshirts.

Stay tuned to see if Natalie and I dress up too! Any suggestions for us?

Hi! Natalie & Tracey,

jumping over from Reese's (DevonsDisneyMom),

How fun that you guys are doing WDW together! (great looking group, I would like to add) my family is staying at the POP Sep 28 - Oct 3 (maybe we will run into you guys), we are doing the DDP for the very first time, I am so excited to be giving it a try this go round. I can't wait to surprise DS4 with breakfast at Ohana's and was so excited to hear that is one of your favoirte.
your plans so far sound great! and how fun to do MNSSHP twice, I love the idea (although, I know we will only do it once).

We are going on this trip to meet up with several disser's, too. In fact two of them are also staying at the POP and another one is considering it.

Can't wait to hear more of your plans!

 Connie

:welcome: thanks for coming over!!!! I love O'hana breakfast, it is my favourite in the world and it will be a must do for every trip from now on!

Off to check out your PTR!

Hey Ladies!!! Loving your choices for for ADR's... We have VERY similar tastes!!

Tusker House has quickly become one of my favorite breakfast spots. We are eating there as well as Chef Mickey's in September!

Natalie I'm not 100% sure BUT I'm pretty sure that you Can now book the fantasmic dinner package on line.

So you guys like the 50's section huh??? That's where we are staying too, but all I noted on my reservation was 70's section with connecting rooms. All I really want is to be close to classic hall and the hippy dippy pool. You think I should modify my request to just say something vague like connecting rooms close to main hall??? Bottom line, I just DO NOT want to be in the 80's or 90's section. Too far for me! :rotfl2:

In December I stayed in 50's but I was in building 1, second last room pool side. This time if we are lake side building 3 they are not preferred so it should be nice and close!!!

I just want to be close to Classic Hall and I want our rooms to be ready when we check in... That's not a lot to ask right? :rotfl2:

I didn't do a TR for Dec but you have no idea how peed off I was when we checked in to AKL in Dec. We got there a little after noon and our room was not ready. No biggie I know we got there before "official" check in time and all but the fact that our room was NOT ready till after 5 o'clock really set me over the edge!!! I am not one to complain, but for the $$$ I was paying to stay at this resort and you are going to make us wait for 2 additional hours after what you say is check in time REALLY set me over the edge so I complained to management... Her response to me was we are under staff and the resort is at 150% capacity!!!! Are you kidding me??? I literally said and how is that my problem and walked away from her!!!

Wow I would have been ticked. 150% capacity thats ridiclous. I thik they overbooked all the resorts in December because trish got moved from Pop to the GF... I would have liked that!!!

ARE YOU Serious!!! Yeah I don't think I would have minded that!!! :yay:

I told them that I have received better service at a value resort and that this experience has given me NO incentive to spend more $$$ and stay at a deluxe resort again!

Tracy...the Princesses did NOTsing for Naomi-Ruth on her Birthday at CRT...the waiter we had did bring out the freebie treat she had chocolate tofutti ice cream w/ a candle in it...we did not purchase anything special. Not sure if sometimes they do or not...NR didn't care...but it was a bit lackluster.

I am pretty sure CRT does a lovley plate w/ a chocolate slipper filled w/ cream (or is it pudding?) and fruit and they write Happy Birthday on it for a $$...something you can look into. I think I also read you do not need to order the speciality desserts till a few weeks out.

good luck w/ it :goodvibes

Oh you really must!!! Matt and I are REALLY dressing up...can't reveal what are costumes are at this time...but it will be GOOD! ;) I plan to have a couple theme-y Halloween shirts too to wear during our stay...

I love all the character meals you ladies have picked out. While I don't need to ONLY do them, I do like to do them. Sadly, my dh really could care less. Next trip... I travel with him, a teen aged boy... and my sweet little girl. I foresee making some solo (well, just my little one and I ) ADR's for some character meals.

The mugs... those are the new colors? :crazy2: Those are pretty wild colors. Not sure my boy is gonna want one...or my dh for that matter. Again... probably just my dd and I will want them.

As for the two MNSSHP... how fun! If you can swing it, then do it!

Loving the dining plans...hope you manage to get all your ADRs!!

Think the new mugs look cool - will definitely be wanting a pink one!

Awesome plans!!!! I am so glad you posted a pic of the new mugs. I love the new design and can't wait to get ours!!!! :cool1:
