jeez this song makes me cry.

Songs that do that to you?

this song is the worst one for me. They played it at my sons' graduation too.

I LOVE that song, and bought the CD just to have it!

My DD used this for her video photo montage that we played at her graduation party. I never particularly cared for it until I really listened to the words. Great song!

I can't listen to that song, "100 Years", without sobbing.:sad1:

My daughter, along with members of her dance competition team, performed a lyrical number to that song last year, and I was a mess whenever they performed it. It was a beautiful dance and I had to watch it through tears.

She was fifteen at the time, so the worst part for me was when I heard the line, "I'm fifteen for a moment". All I could think about was how true it is; we ARE fifteen, and every other age, for only a moment, or so it seems.

Just thinking about that song makes me cry. I have to go get a tissue! Sad.:sad2:

100 Years by Five For Fighting:

I'm 15 for a moment
Caught in between 10 and 20
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are
I'm 22 for a moment
She feels better than ever
And we're on fire
Making our way back from Mars
15 there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to lose
15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live
I'm 33 for a moment
Still the man, but you see I'm a they
A kid on the way
A family on my mind
I'm 45 for a moment
The sea is high
And I'm heading into a crisis
Chasing the years of my life
15 there's still time for you
Time to buy, Time to lose yourself
Within a morning star
15 I'm all right with you
15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live
Half time goes by
Suddenly you’re wise
Another blink of an eye
67 is gone
The sun is getting high
We're moving on...
I'm 99 for a moment
Dying for just another moment
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are
15 there's still time for you
22 I feel her too
33 you’re on your way
Every day's a new day...
15 there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to choose
Hey 15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live

I like that song, but I think their first album is better. I haven't gotten the newest album yet, the one with "The Riddle." I think my favorite Five for Fighting song is "Its Not Easy (Superman)" now that song always makes me cry for some reason. Its normally the line, "even heroes have the right to dream." "100 Years" is a really good song though. I saw part of the Today Show today before work and they had Five for Fighting on.

Here are some of the songs that make me cry:
"Going Home" by Mary Fahl (from the movie Gods and Generals)
"Remember Me" by Sarah McLachlan
"Full Circle" by Lorenna McKennitt
"So it Goes" by Billy Joel
"Shelter for my soul" by Bernard Fanning (from the movie Ned Kelly)
"Wind Beneath my Wings" by Bette Midler (from the movie Beaches)

It is a good song, but I keep thinking of the VISA commercial whenever I hear it.

Makes me cry... :sad1:

I don't listen to country music at all because of half the slow songs make me cry. Oh heck, I cry too easily!

I LOVE that song! We actually ended up setting our wedding pics in a sort-of "picture montage" to it. Makes me cry!

Another song that makes me cry - "Forever Young" by Rod Stewart. My oldest graduated from high school last year and I cried every time I heard this.

I also love "Forever Young" and "100 Years." "Forever Young" is the song I used to sing to my son when he was a baby, and he was 15 when "100 Years" came out. We heard it on the radio yesterday and now my son is 18 -- it's amazing how those years really do fly by. But to me, he'll always be "Forever Young" because no matter how big he gets, he's my baby. :)

My Little Girl by Tim McGraw from Flicka

Daddy's Hands by Holly Dunn

Butterfly Kisses :: Bob Carlisle
Change the World :: Eric Clapton

I'm not a big fan of the "100 Years," as someone else said it reminds me of the Visa commercial now.

DD and I really love Five for Fighting, and we absolutely love "100 Years". I love the message of the song. I really like "The Riddle", too, and have become a real fan of this band. Another song that makes me cry is "The Change" by Garth Brooks. Boy can that one really make me sob. I don't know if it is the words, or the video, or both, but I really get emotional about it. I am trying to remember if any other songs make me cry. "Mary Did You Know?" by Kenny Rogers and Wynonna really makes me stop for a moment.

This song played as I was leaving school dropping ds off for his first day of first grade. I sobbed.
It's been a year and a half and I remember that moment very well.:(

I LOVE this song!! My DS turned 11 yesterday. He got an MP3 player for Christmas and that was one of the songs he wanted downloaded. While he was listening (and I was on here typing!) I looked over and he had tears rolling down his little face. I thought something was wrong and he said "no mom, that song just makes me CRY!" Yup, a chip off the old "sentimental mess" block!
