Please help me figure this out. Our early afternoon flight home on a Friday was rescheduled after 6:30 PM. So now we have enough time to spend a part of another day in DL if the cost to upgrade our 5 day tickets to 6 day tickets is reasonable. What is the cost to do this? I paid $231 (regular $246) for the special offer 5 day hopper good until May 28th. The same offer has the 6 day hopper for $236 (regular $251). However, non-promotional 6 day tickets good through December on the web-site are $251 (regular $271). So to upgrade at the ticket booth will it cost me $20 or $40 per ticket? I appreciate any help clarifying this.

I don't know how much to add to a 5 day, you should call whomever you bought the tickets from. I upgraded a 3 day park hopper to a 4 day an the total for 2 adult and 1 child ticket was 58.00. I think it's cheaper the more days you have purchased. My guess is it won't cost much at all.

I called last year for similar situation and spoke to various departments. At the end, the CM at ticket booth advised us that only way to find out the price difference is for them to scan your tickets at the booth or to have your ticketing agent to upgrade the tickets. We didn't extend our stay at the end so didn't find out the upgrade cost. However, as coaches24 said it shouldn't cost too much for 1day addition. Good luck and enjoy your stay.

The promo prices are not available at the ticket booths (it's in the fine print), so the cost of a 6-day ticket at the parks is going to be $271. Since you paid $231 for your tickets, you will pay the full difference - $40, per ticket.

And have found it to be a surprisingly irritating thing. I have received different answers from different Disney sources. Some of them will flat out tell you it can't be done, which is very frustrating. I can say this - the outside ticket booths have never been helpful to me. I was able to get an upgrade from a 5 to 6 once inside the park at City Hall. However, they make this challenging for some reason.

Hookem, are you sure it was when upgrading from a 5 to a 6 and not a 6 to a 7? A 6-day ticket is the most that is available at Disneyland. You can add extra days to a 6-day hopper to make it 7 or 8, but it isn't advertised and can take some extra steps. Upgrading from a 5-day to a 6-day however, shouldn't cause a stir, as 6-days are offered for sale and there should be no need to go anywhere other than a ticket booth.

I was afraid that was the case. I think for that amount we will need to find another activity to fill the time. I could fill the whole day in DTD but I am sure the boys will be out of spending money by then.

Activity suggestions? Does anyone know when the LegoStore remodel will be completed?

I don't know the answer to that, sorry.

How long ago did you buy your tickets, and how many do you need? I'm not saying that they will do this, but anything is worth a shot...

Two years ago, I bought two 2-day parkhopper tickets online for my sister and mom. A few days after I purchased them, I realized that we would be able to stay an extra day, so I emailed Disneyland customer service ASAP and explained my situation - that I actually wanted to spend MORE time (and money) at Disneyland and hoped they could help me just this once... Well, they refunded my credit card the price of the 2-day hoppers and I was able to purchase 3-day hoppers online instead at the discounted price. Again, this is against their official policy, but I got lucky and you might too ;) There's nothing to lose!

The Lego Store won't open until almost Summer, or possibly after some school have started thier breaks. It is currently in a temporary location.

Why give the boys spending money that will be gone in an hour instead of spending it on a longer length of visit ticket?

I would have thought it would have been so simple, but it was a frustrating ordeal. The outside ticket booth wanted to charge me a full day to get the extra day.

We bought under the special promotion as well for our tickets. When it was time to add a day on, they charged me $5 per ticket to add a day. $5. The end. Not a $5 service charge. Just $5 per ticket to add a day. The gentleman who did this for us said "Oh, we figure we've already taken so much of your money by day 5, that there's no reason to make money on your admission for the days after that--we'll make it with the prices of everything else!" Made me laugh! For the record, we took our 5-day ticket to the ticket booth on day 5, explained that we wanted to add a day, and he said it would be $10 total, and we had no issues getting in on day 6.

Thank you Sonnyjane. I will give this a shot.

I would need to buy 5 tickets and I certainly would not give the 2 boys $200 to spend at the lego store. But you are absolutely right, if the cost is less than $40 each, more time in the park is the way to go.

Wow, it looks like you really got lucky. I will have to check it out on day 5 and maybe I will get the same CM.

Thank you all for your replies.

We upgraded from a 4 day to a 5 day this week and the cost was $34 total for 3 tickets. We had previously bought the pass online. Check your tickets carefully when they do this, the first CM made a mistake and changed our Park Hopper to single park. We didn't notice until after we go to the gate. When we went back, they switched them to Park Hopper, but accidentally downgraded one of the adult tickets to a child ticket. (fortunately we saw it before we left the ticket window).

The only way to confirm the upgrade cost is to scan the ticket which is why when you call, sometime they don't have a very good or consistant answer. But, that being said, If you have a discounted ticket - go to the booth where it will be scanned and then they will know which discount it is...Then they will also know the cost of the 6 day park hopper which would be $5 more. So you should only be paying $5 more. I just verified this info with a ticket booth lead. (my wife) :)
