I am looking to buy into DVC AKV this month and wondered-what are the chances of getting a 2br in march-april time frame?

It depends on whether you really want to stay at the AKV or not. If you don't mind another resort and can be flexible with your days, you will find something.

The nice thing about buying through Disney will be that the points will be available almost immediately for a reservation.

are two bedrooms easier to find then studios then?

In the past I have heard that studios go first followed by 2BR's and last to go are 1BR's. At the BWV where we own I would put the grand villas first since there are so few of them.
