5:30 and they're all gone

What a day! I love my family, I really do, but I'm so glad they're gone!

We ate at exactly 1:15!! (What a shock!) We always used to eat early, but they've been arriving later and pushing dinner later into the afternoon. My older DS needs to go to his in-laws after us, and they wanted to eat at 2. My niece and her DH need to go his parents after us, too.

So, if people get here at noonish, I think being outta here by 5:30 is reasonable.

Now, I'm pooped!

I'm off to get out my foot spa - so I can walk tomorrow!

It sounds like you had a good time, but boy do I understand the relief when people finally leave...it's nice to have the quiet!

We went to my parents for lunch. Ate, helped clean everything up and left within 2 hours. Went home took a nap, left for inlaws at 3:00. We were 1 1/2 hours late for their meal (on purpose sort of) just had desert an hung out for a couple of hours then went home.

Worked out great! But now they have decided, after many years of doing Christmas either the weekend before Christmas Day or the weekend after, that we will have Christmas at SIL's on Christmas Day. I really do not like draggin the boys all over the countryside on Christmas Day. The youngest at least would rather be home playing with whatever he gets for presents. Not sure what we are going to do now.

We always do Thanksgiving with my inlaws and it was really pretty nice, I get along better with them than I do my family. It probably didn't hurt that we ate at 1:15 and I had to got to work for a little while at 2:30, but we arrived around 11.

Anyone else get along better with inlaws than with their own family? Don't get me wrong I love my family bur we aren't really that close and I don't have nearly as much in common with my family as I do with my wife's.

People arrived Wednesday & left Friday (today). I'm so freaking tired, however I need to start the laundry of sheets, blankets & towels. Vac the house & clean up some. DH is working today, and maybe Sat & Sun. I'm working Sat & Sun. DH leaves Mon on business for the week.

I guess its all up to me to get the house back in order.

I just want to sleep.
