we were up bright and early today...no need for breakfast because we had a PS for donalds breakfastasaurus. My son said several times that Donald was the character he most wanted to meet, so we figures this breakfast was a great way to start. We had a PS for 8:00 which is an hour before the park opened. The called us in the 3rd group in. I cannot say enuff about the man who led us thru the park and took care of our room during the breakfast. He was animated and very funny. My son just thought he was great, wouldnt even walk with us into the park, cause "he had to walk this that man". This breakfast was one of the highlights of the trip. they seat you in separate little rooms, there were only about 8 tables in our room...so there were no crowds trying to take "your" time away from teh characters. The look on my sons face through all the characters meets were priceless...he gives everyone of them a huge hug and was great about immediately posing for a picture. the breakfast was very tasty, no complaints there. The only complaint I had was when we were in the buffet line, there were two pans of bacon. My wife picked up the tongs to get some bacon...the CM behind the counter literally RIPPED the tongs right out of her hands and then started combining the bacon into one pan...I even made a comment about it and she never even acknowledged us...I could not believe it. but thats a minor problem, Id recommend this breakfast to anyone looking for a nice character meal.
This was our first time at animal kingdom. The park is SO beautiful. It exceeded my expectations in a BIG way. By the end of our vacation it became my second favorite of the 4 parks. We went straight to the safari when the park opened. My son just loved this ride....talked about it so much we ended up visiting AK a second time later in the trip (dinosaur was closed, but opened on our last day and I wanted to see that too). the only part of the park we didnt hit was asia....we just never got over there. My son met a bunch of characters at camp minnie mickey. I loved the bugs life movie, enjoyed the lion king and really just enjoyed the decor of the park itself. I think they have the nicest shops in all of WDW. I took over 650 pictures on this trip and the best one is of my son and stitch in AK. he asked for a stuffed stitch while he was in line and I bought it...he is holding it in the picture. Great stuff. we moved over to dino land last, played a couple games (won my son a stuffed frog) and rode the triceratops ride. After that it was HOT, VERY CROWDED and we basically needed a break....so we headed back to our room at POFQ and all 3 of us napped for a couple HOURS.
with no plans for the night we went to Downtown Disney on the boat. Nice ride out, but the CM on the boat just basically lectured people over the loudspeaker the whole time. This was the theme for alot of the trip, the CMs treating everyone like they are 5 Years Old (although many there act like it, Ill admit). Last time I went to DD, the west side consisted of Planet Hollywood and the movies...so it was neat to see all the additions. We at at Earl of Sandwich (remember, my stomach was still off from Ohanas). I had a cheese, tomato, basil sandwich and it was excellent. THe prices were some of the lowest I saw to eat inside of WDW. it was a nice lowkey night. we tried to take the boat home but there were somewhere in and around 4 zillion people in line, so we took the bus....the bus had NO line.....the driver I think drank all night at pleasure island before he drove us, cause that was one CRAZY ride...my son rapped his head off windows, walls, everything cause this guy was jammingthe brakes, ripping around corners, just driving like a maniac
we got of fhte bus, kissed the ground and then headed back to the room for some sleep.
