Say a little prayer for Charley this weekend. He is having to go back into the Doctor on Monday. What happens at this visit will determine if they decide to put in a pacemaker. He is on beta blockers right now, because when the did the tilt test about 6 weeks ago he got really ill. They will do the same test again and see if the medication is helping. If not, they want to do the pacemaker. So on Monday I am going with him on that and then Wednesday they are supposed to install the refrigerated air, Thursday am I have dental appointment and then Friday afternoon, both of my brothers are flying in. Busy week

My DH had the tilt test done in march. he also had a "bad reaction". (His heart stopped for almost 30 seconds.) Afterwards he was put on betablockers to see, and so far he has had a good reaction (no new symptoms and others have faded.)

I am sending lots of :grouphug: and pixiedust:

That is a very cute idea. What grade is your daughter in? I'm about to graduate with a major in elementary education. I just got a job as a second grade teacher! But that seems like something you could do probably up to 3rd grade!

I teach HS and we are on letter S, so it is applicable to ALL LEVELS! :rolleyes1 :teacher: (Of course, we are not doing this in English!)

Is it just me? Or does anyone else have trouble seeing Ray? It took me a while to focus on him. I kept seeing the little "fish" in the background.

Dad always had a few parents like that - but, our number was always unlisted and is still unlisted too...If a parent was miffed, he wasn't available at night for a conference call - he would always reply - "My alternative office hours are 6:00-7:15am before school I would be more than happy to call you then"...It's amazing how good the mid day conference time sounded.... :lmao:

That reminds me of when Sharon was the accountant for our church back many years ago. Our pastor would call late at night, after 10 PM, and want to talk to her about some checks or accounting issues.

The first couple of times I would wake her up and hand the phone over. One time I responded that she was asleep, but would be glad to call her when she gets up at 5 am. "Oh, but that is to early. I'll still be asleep" I let him think about his statement for a few minutes and he never called back late again.

I know Chelsea is hoping to find some buddies that we will let her roam freely with. I am the nutty mom who watches all the cruise horror news shows a month before sailing. We are trying to attach some sort of GPS to her swin suit but not having much luck. Maybe we can weave it into the braids... :rolleyes1 Our best bet is going to be friends and a radio and a good parental threat talk I guess. :bitelip: It was so much easier when we just checked them into the clubs. Thank goodness for Shelby -- not even a chance she can check herself out!!

Barbara

Easy answer for this concern, the rest of us. Do the meet, make sure we all know what she looks like, get her to hang with one of our kids....and if anything goes wrong.....everyone will know.

Just ask my son! :rotfl2:

hey wait - isn't this the same son who slept with a few of the girls on the cruise??? :stir: :lmao:

Pam, I will keep Charley in my thoughts and prayers!
Welcome DBCS!

Angie, It took me a moment to figure out what Ray had changed his avatar to!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!!! :sunny:

The page looks great and we absolutly want in on the buttons and the navigator! So sorry we missed out on the tees -- they are really cute! I would much rather have that than another island shirt! Common sence tells me I don't need another island tee... of course I dont talk to my common sence much... And DH is an absolute bag addict!! He is really upset after seeing the cool bag!! Oh well, that is what we get for hibernating for so long. :guilty:

I took a quick look at the list on the site -- looks like a fun group! DBCS is all of us -- Doug, Barbara, Chelsea(13) & Shelby(7). We are looking forward to the meet on 10 @3.

I am going to start reading backwards, but no guarentee that I will read all -- I do still have to pack and there is only a month left!! :yay: :cloud9:

Got to go finish the my last GS cookie sale drop... I'll be back!!
Barbara

Welcome -- from another fellow Texan. We are Me (44), DH (45), DS (15 - almost 16) and DD (11 going on 16)

Looking forward to meeting you and your family.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Don't even want to think about the possibilities of a pacemaker right before vacation and going to foreign countries.

Thanks Karen -- appreciate that, very positive! He says he doesn't feel any different taking the beta blockers, so hopefully that is a good thing

Thanks Tinksdad -- Too funny...I love it!!

I was told you could hook me up with GPS ankle device for my DD13?? :teeth: :rotfl2:

This is our first cruise with a teen... Have you had a teen on a sailing before? I really wish they would let us sign them into a club and then tag them for us... wouldn't that be simple and comforting?? :goodvibes

If you or anyone has info on the teen programs I would love to hear it. :bitelip:

Barbara
That's the threat!!! I'm telling our DD that I installed a under the skin GPS device while she was sleeping! :lmao:

Alicia had a blast at the teen club. They have dances and lots of stuff to keep them busy. If that didn't work, you could always find them curled up in small groups in the stairwells and at out of the way corners.

I need to make a map of potential teen hide-a-way spots!!!! :rolleyes1

Weather is calm here tonight. That bad weather you saw Diana must have been slightly northwest of here. So glad tomorrow is Friday. Have a busy weekend. Charley has another overtime night shift on Saturday and I have to go into the office for several hours during the day. No seeing each other that day. Ashley has to go to a mission trip, so everyone but Dale will be busy. I have to take off so much next week

:wizard: :wizard: for Charley and the rest of the family :grouphug: :grouphug:

Scuba Diver..... Funny, that is the same idea my husband and I had.... We want her to know "eyes are always watching her" and will tell on her!! :thumbsup2

Mickeymo..... He slept with who?? when??? Do tell !!! That sounds like a story I want to hear!!! :lmao:

How's this for an idea.... We all send in pics of our teens to put in the mini navigator. Kind of a everyone's-watching-you cheat sheet. :smooth: I think it would be hilarious for someone to walk up to Chelsea and say "Your mother said to stop that!" OR "Chelsea is that your 3rd ice cream cone in a row??" :rotfl2:

I did find the teen thread and plan to send Chelsea there this weekend. She had a running buddy last cruise and it worked out really well. Of course they both had to radio us before they left the lab... oh, the good old days... :rolleyes2

My crew consists of DH (42 going on 14 :cool1: ), DD (13 going on 30 :cheer2: ) & DD (7 & still a very sweet child princess: ) and me (ageless  )
