Welcome aboard needawdwtrip! This will be our first cruise as well. It will be DH, DD-almost 6, DD-3.5 and myself. Looks like my girls are getting more friends around their ages. Diana, don't think that thought hasn't crossed my mind- especially after the "maybe Dh won't get to scuba dive" thing... but it's really not an option at this point. We've been waiting for this cruise since 2003... originally booked for Feb 2005 but postponed it because the week we were going on that cruise was supposed to be a regularly scheduled winter break at our children's schools but in 2004 they changed it to a new schedule with NO days off in Feb- so we made the choice to postpone it until May 2006... so we're already almost 3yrs waiting for this cruise. I believe at this point not only would the kids think we're just flat out telling them a fib about ever going on the DCL (if we were to tell them we're postponing it atleast another year in order to book early again and get the best price) but DH would probably nix the idea all together... who knows- could postpone another 1.5yrs and then things like this come up again shortly before the trip. There are no guarantees it would be any better at that exact point in the future- yanno? LOL

I'll deal.. and just pray that DH gets to scuba dive somewhere. If not... well I'll just make promises (while on the cruise- or sooner if we find out for sure, before the cruise, that he won't get to scuba dive) that he'll get to go on one of the next dive groups (locally) that go to Cozumel together to dive. LOL They seem to do that (and other places) quite often... I just haven't let DH go on a trip like that alone yet. Might have to let him. LOL

My youngest DD is 5 (almost 6 on the cruise)-- so she, your DD and the other 5yr old might be playing together/etc. Lots of kiddos on this cruise with this group.

Welcome Needawdwtrip . Feel free to join right in and chat with us. It's getting closer and closer...15 more weeks, that's all. This is our first DCL also. It's me, DH, DS(10), DS(6). Sorry, no girls but our little guys may be together. There's LOTS of girls on this cruise. They'll fit right in. Don't you worry.

Sue - sorry to hear that you lost power...I guess if that happened to me, I would be upset and not so happy about the snow, too. That would put a damper on my happiness. Glad you're OK though. Did you get your electricity back yet? We had our fireplace (regular ole' wood fireplace) going from 8:00am-9:00pm. It was great!! Had some s'mores and hot chocolate. Talk about your caffeine boost!! We did have a 2-hour delay with school. Kids were hoping othewise.

I'll try to get out today and take some pictures for y'all.

Welcome! As everyone has said, Mary(WDWLVR) & Mark's(MarkRG) website is the place to find out about us... I think I speak for all of us when I say there isn't a sane one in the bunch... but we have a lot of fun here! Quite a few in this group have cruised together before, but probabluy just as many haven't... we've just spent a lot of time 'here' getting to know each other and having a lot of good-natured fun.

We celebrate the "TOP" post of each page, and all the major round-number milestones... both in individual post counts and thread post counts... we also tend to point out those who "stir the pot" (except for Jim (aka scuba diver who would much rather SIT the pot...), and sometimes break out into song on Friday mornings (DIS karaoke).

Anyone have covered gutters? Is it normal to have LOTS of icicles? Have a broom by the door so I don't get stuck! Sue

It's called ice damming, happens anytime you have heavy amounts of snow on the roof. An easy fix for next time is get get a device called a roof rake, kind of like a squeegee on a long pole and either yourself or get someone to rake down the few inches of snow on the roof from the gutters up. As long as you have a clear dry patch it'll stop icing up the gutter.

even thou I'm not at 100 o/o life is still good, I have not let the little things get to me, at times the BIG ones really to take there toll on me.

It's amazing how far in advance you have to book these cruises before the rate goes up dramatically. We were worried we wouldn't be able to go because the hurricane extended the school year 5 days so the kids are going to miss three days of school now. (I talked to the teachers already and they said go ahead. ) We aren't going to leave as early as we planned and take in a couple of days at disney and it looks as though the dolphin excursion may be gone, but there is still plenty to be excited about. I'm sure you'll enjoy your time with your family regardless of missing scuba diving.
