Should be going to Curves this morning, but I'm dog tired from staying up too late last night. Then once I went to bed, I was awake for another hour planning scrapbook pages in my head!

I'll miss the lunchtime posting b/c I have to take the new car in to get XM radio installed AND have them fill my tank! They are giving us a rental so we'll run errands (post office, library, scrapbook store) for several hours till it's done.

Good Morning, All!

It's Monica - posting on John's computer - We're having a great time in D.C. - weather is sunny and warm - depending on the perspective - my Chicago based parents think it's hot and are trying to find any bit of shade they can...

I love D.C. - especially the neighborhood we're staying in - it's so eclectic and a great spot for people watching. Embassy Row is a block a way - I need to brush up on my geography and flag recognition...

Went to the international spy museum yesterday - oh so cool!!! I wanted a kick butt - Jennifer Gardner/Alias outfit to go with my "under cover identity" - no such luck...

Don't think I'll burn enough calories with all the walking we're doing - the food is too good! Got to surf to plan out more of our day - catch ya'll later!

We're back...or did I write that last night??? Anyway...had fun, will post more later. I just HAD to tell Kevin and Jim what Jay, Jared and I did in Puerto Vallarta.....We went scuba diving for the first time ever!! I was incredibly scared. Loss of control issues here....but it was very cool, and we saw a lot more fish than I had expected for that region. We took a 45 min class, and went down 30 feet and stayed down for 45 minutes. Not SNUBA....real live Scuba!
We even have video of it. The funniest thing was me in a wet suit! :earseek: Later, I heard some people on the beach say there was a whale sighting!
Way to Go!!

I think it's SOOO much more fun than snorkeling! More work, more equipment, but it definitely has it's advantages. To be down with the sea life is very Cool!!

Just know, Mary, that my goal is not to overtake you, just to stay ahead of Mr. Scuba. I feel badly overtaking innocent people to reach my goal. :(
Are you saying, that Sir Scuba is, in some way NOT innocent?? How can that be????? :rotfl2:

dzneprincess said:
Welcome home Stace! That is so neat that you all went scuba diving!!! SOunds like fun!! U can't believe that you can get certified in one class?? Really neat! I hope you had a great trip!
Good morning everyone, have a wonderful day! I owe I owe, so off to work I go!
The vacation spots offer what they call "Resort Courses" for scuba. They do not give you a certification, but let you experience the wonders of the underwater world with the presence of a instructor. It is, a good way to see if you're intested in taking the full course and getting certified though!

and a TOP shared with the now VERY wet Stacey!!

Oops, double post.

They sell the Fairy Tale Cuvee at the resorts, you know. I have seen it at the Boardwalk and Beach Club, anyway.

No way - How did I not know this.....sob, sob, :sad2: :sad2: My WDW knowledge is lacking - oh well, that is what you guys are for! :)

I have never seen it on a WDW menu, but must start a new campaign....

Catching up on posts, more later...More posts that way too.

Here goes... my consolidated post for the morning... no shameless post count boosting for me!!!!

Kikipug, sorry we never meet or we would have you over for some Banfi! :sunny:
It's funny that everyone that lives thousands of miles apart can manage a DIS-meet, but we are less than a mile apart, and our existance can only be confirmed in cyberspace... oh wait... Sharon and I DID meet at Middle School orientation that night... so I KNOW there's at least one Scuba...

tinksdad said:
Karen, you better don the bike shorts and get the 10-speed over there pronto!! :teeth:

Bumper sticker for the back of the bike "Will bike for Banfi?"
I haven't managed to find time to get on the darn bike in weeks... maybe I DO need some motivation! (Chocolate and wine probably shouldn't be it, though!)

Yeah, another spouse has been bullied into submission!!!!!!!;)
Mine still thinks that I am just plain crazy, and that I am spending too much time on the computer (I chat with my brother for hours, too...) We won't see Ray on here til at LEAST after next year's Daytona 500. That will still give him 3 months to figure out what a bunch of crazy lunatics he's vacationing with. (He already knows that about me...)

ohiominnie said:
Man, everytime someone mentions "Karen" I get confused! Ok, I'll admit, it's not that hard to do!! ;)
Only my family calls me Kiki to my face, but if it makes life easier for you... go ahead... (My nephew bestowed the name on me when he was a baby... he's graduating from HS next week, but the name still lingers at family functions...)

I'm clearing out....prepping for the move to Florida!

Hurry up already!!!!!!

Well, when I'm not teaching, I'll do some. Don't think I'll have the time to teach the kids AND do a bunch of ebay stuff

Sounds like a great economics lesson... E-commerce and its Effects on the American Household in the 21st Century. (Hmm... I think I wrote one too many business ed. papers in grad school)

tinksdad said:
No, you silly cookie!!
First she's confused 'cause she's got the SAME name as someone else, now you call her by the WRONG name of another someone else!!!!

And now it would seem this lastest fluff fest has changed the tide.

dzneprincess 890
tinksdad 763
kikipug 762

My ploy to stay under the radar and get out of the Top 3 while still maintaining the pot stirring and fluff-creating is working!!! Pretty soon, Mary will pass me out too!! Muwahahahahaha!!!

That we are all nutz!! RUN AWAY!!:rotfl2:
Larry... the sooner you figure that out, the sooner you can rest easy... or stay up all night like these goofballs did last night... some of us got some sleep in order to face Monday morning with a :teeth: . (Yeah... like THAT would ever happen.)

I think that's why I haven't convinced myself to do it... glad you had a great trip!!

You lucky duck....being able to do laundry on a MONDAY!
I can do laundry on Monday's sometimes....Memorial Day, Labor Day, President's Day.I can also do it on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Our load demand meter doesn't turn on on holidays!! I live a weird life!

July 4 is a Monday this year... you are in Laundry Luck!!! (Move to FL, will ya??!!... no more laundry issues).

Lots to do today... if you see me back here before noon (EST), tell me to get back to work!!!!

SOME of us actually go to bed at 9:00 so SOME of us can get up at 5 am with a decent night's sleep  . But it is clear that the night owls get the fluff, while the early birds get to read those pages of fluff. Rest assured (was that a pun?) Larry knows that the majority of the DISers are strange, but so are we. I'm not sure I can get him to post again if he has to wade through all of that FLUFF :confused3 .

Where did my post go???????? :confused3

Hum, did I start a new thread???? - I waited the 40 second rule time, oh well - here we go again.

Good Morning Cruisers --- It's :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Gopher Wood for Sale!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw the sunrise this morning --- and while it may rain today, there is hope. Yippeeee :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

We too attacked clutter this weekend in the closets ( what else to do when it is raining). Woke up Saturday and between the wind and rain, thought Arlene had taken a detour.....

Anyway, had a great time at our favorite Irish pub last night where we can get SMITHWICK's. :drinking1 :drinking1

It is Ireland's oldest Ale.

:shamrock: We discovered it in 1994 and had to wait a decade for it to come to the U.S. and then found it in Cocoa Beach, our first stop on the way to the Port, by the way. Come on all you Banfi supporters, ya gotta try it

To try it is to love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl2:

GENERAL SCUBA QUESTIONS - I was interested in the post on Cruise Scuba certifications and have a follow-up one. Of course, I could research this my self, but why, when we have such experts on this board (ok - did I butter you guys up enough).

DH and I were enjoying a glass of wine with friends and started talking about diving. We used to dive, but haven't for a while.....I thought dive certifications expired......????? Do they????

We attached the "secret" spots in our home and found our Certifications....

Now, we would not want to jump in the water for a cruise without testing first, suggestions?????

Thanks....

Hi BEAR - glad to see you are making new friends..... :flower:
Bear's new friend is Teddy, who, along with a lot of the kids, will be 11 years old at the time of the cruise. We definitely have to keep the caffeine sodas out of Teddy's reach at home. :drinking1

We must keep Teddy away from Hedgie - see her picture on Mary's link....She will introduce Teddy to drinks with little umbrella's in them....Oh, what a bad hedgehog!

P.S. she gets blamed for a lot!!!

So, Hedgie will corrupt Teddy, just as the DISers have corrupted us and got us started on Banfi, even though neither of us are drinkers.;)

We've decided to start adopting a healthier lifestyle with an occasional glass of wine...and some Harry and David dark chocolate truffles to go with, of course :teeth:

Our mini-meet yesterday also happened to be next to an outlet mall, so we forced ourselves to do some shopping after Mark and Mary had to leave. DH needed new shoes. He ended up soaking his 'church' shoes on Saturday night when he ended up shop-vac and squeeging (is that a word?) water from the church roof and nursery where the roof had leaked. He ended up with 3 pairs of new shoes, though, and I only got 1 pair. I guess I'll let him know that it's his Father's Day gift.

We've had enough rain here that our grass is growing again. Since our lawn tractor was destoyed in our neighbor's fire last month and hasn't been replaced yet, we are growing our own little 'prairie restoration' habitat. We need to get DS to mow the 3 acres with our push mower. We'll just tell him he's earning money for the cruise :teeth:.
