I just popped over to mousesavers for a quick look at the new deal. We already have 2 weeks booked at ASMu in Jan (11-25) and the deal is only good for up to 10 days! so we pay for 5 get 2 free even though we should pay for 10 and get 4 free! This is a total bummer!!!! Anyone else in this pr:mad:

Can't you just make two reservations back to back? There's a slight chance you may have to switch rooms, but it seems like it would be worth it for the savings.

Ooooooooooh yes!! I forgot about that!! OMG-you are a life saver! I am having a heart attack over here! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:woohoo::yay:

The only problem with doing this is you would again have to purchase 5 day base tickets on the 2nd reservation. Kind of negates the value, unless you just put those tickets back for another trip. :confused3

Excellent point. You'll probably have to figure out if you're going again in the foreseeable future and then run the numbers to make sure the deal is worth it with the increased ticket prices.

For ASMu two weeks, Jan 26 - Feb 9

Well, I just priced it out online w/ the link for the specials

for 10 nights/11 days $1266.50

Then I'd have to add on 4 days at AAA (if still available), so $313 or $347

So $1579.50 or $1613.50

Right now I have AAA room only for all 14 nights/15 days at $1208

And planned on 10 day myw base at undercovertourist $496

$1704

so 5/2 would save me around $90 - $125

Getting two separate 1 week ressies = $1934 (967 x2)

My gut is saying to ride it out and get a possible room only discount so I won't have to mess with my original ressie. Last year they came out around December and I think 40% off values. (So could possibly be $1305 total, ahhh, to dream LOL).

I know any savings is a savings, and I'll probably lose out on 5/2 room being all take, just a :headache: too many numbers in my head

You're right CGLaura,
I called AAA and it would be more expensive because we'd have to book 2 separate ressies and do 2 s day MYW base tickets with PH. So I guess Disney only wants people to really stay 1 week then! Not to mention ASMu is sold out for this promo. Gee, how'd that happen when the deal was just released? Hmmmm...

I think all the resorts sold out quicker because they were allowing people to book it before it was released.

Are you serious? 40 % off Values? Wonder if they will do the same this year seeing as they are trying to get everyone to stay at at MOD or Deluxe

Question...how can people book the deal if it wasn't "released" yet? how did one find out about it? And how is it bookable, but not released? I am confused!

On here, there is a thread for rumored discounts, it was rumored that it was going to be released and a website let it out of the bag-people were calling and they were letting them book on Monday, but Disney had not released it yet.

So a website let it out of the bag and Disney still let people book the deal? That's not fair of Disney to let people book deals when they themselves have not released it to the public. This is besides pin codes or specials for AP holders. This is bull (insert much stronger word!)!

This happens ofton, so thats why I book as soon as I can with my AAA discount so were atleast getting some kind of discount. If something better is released I just call and have the new deal applied.

Why wouldn't you book 7 nights at 5/2 deal and all the rest at AAA?

Well, for me personally, it would only save approximately $100 (I know..."only save"...any savings is a savings!)

But, I would have to cancel my room only ressie, switch to a package.

Then, if they do release a room only code or I receive a pin, which would probably save me around $500, I would have to cancel again, and re-book a room only.

And there is no guarantee that what I have will be available to re-book.

So I chose to stay put with my existing AAA room only and if I get a pin or disney code then great, but if not, we'll have a great trip regardless. I've been saving & gathering reward$ gift cards for this trip for over 2 years and it is the last time my dd and I would be able to take a consecutive 2 week trip together (most likely anyway, growing up and college & career and all).

We want this trip, I'd go with rack rate....that is what I budgeted for. Anything I save with codes and pins is just gravy at this point :wizard: It would kill me to pay rack rate, I'm the queen of frugality, but I'd do it!

It always amazes me when people get all bent out of shape over a Disney discount. They don't have to offer discounts at all! Be happy you are getting a discount, not mad because you don't think it is set up exactly the way you want it. Geesh.:headache:

We are heading back to Disney on Jan 29 and had our reservations at Sports. When the 5-2 deal came out, we called to take advantage. We then checked into upgrading to a moderate hotel since it's 4-3. It is only costing us about $100 more for 8 night stay by upgrading. Caribbean - here we come!

Amen!!! It's like complaining about this year's promotion... so you can't go on your birthday to take advantage of something free given out...

...you weren't entitled to anything free in the first place!!! It's not a given right, at least with the birthday promotion, you didn't go into the parks hoping for something only to be let down when you didn't get dreamed. You knew ahead of time about getting $79 or free admission or FPs for the day.

IMO, be greatful for any discount even a $2 savings is better than nothing.
