Great pictures...goofygal1975!!! I love the countdown poster!! My son's been keeping the countdown going on a white board in his room...it's fun to go in and look at it each day!

I love the t-shirts too!! I'm going to have to check into doing that for my family!!!

After looking at those large countdowns for so long...I can't believe this weekend we'll hit the 79 day mark for when we leave for Florida!!! It's getting so close!!!!

Did anyone else hear that they may be launching a space shuttle on May 15th, 2005? My husband just came home & told me that he heard that they were. I think that would be very exciting! I am just curious if anyone else knows anything about this?

We are getting so excited! Starting to get our packing lists in order. Is everyone else here going to wdw before the cruise? We have never been to wdw, and will not be going this year either. I think we will wait until our youngest son is older. This will be our 3rd cruise however, & we are very excited! :cool1: :cool1: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I know...the time is just flying by now!!! :Pinkbounc We have fun counting down our days with that poster. Ds is out of town this weekend visiting grandpa...so *I* get to mark off the days!! :rotfl: We plan to go up to WDW the Friday before we cruise. Our Florida Seasonal Passes will expire the week after our cruise, so we want to get another day or two out of them!! We're going to stay at Carribean Beach Resort. We just stayed there in Dec and enjoyed it. Plus in our room there was a Picture of DCL!!! :sunny:

I was at walmart the other day and went down the isle with all the travel sized containers. I'll be buying some of those soon!! I'm going to the Disney Store this weekend to see if I can find any surprises for DS for his "welcome" basket! pirate:

I need to sit down and print out some packing lists, and highlight what I need to pack.

YES!!!! I've been following this closely since it's a once in a lifetime kind of opportunity for my family to see this (and, I've been looking for learning experiences for my kids since we're taking them out of school for this trip). :rotfl: On the website the launch had been scheduled for the 14th at 4:00pm...now it's the 15th but I haven't heard a launch time!

I had just heard that it was moved to the 15th a few days ago from someone that works at NASA in Houston...it was very exciting to officially hear it on the news today!!!

Now if we could just find out the time of the launch. The person I talked with said traffic will be really heavy if there's a shuttle launch and to plan accordingly. I just hope it's not at 4:00pm as that's the safety drill...I'd be really disappointed to find out I'm in one of the restaurants for the drill and miss the launch!!!!

goofygal1975...we'll be staying at the CBR too! Arriving on the 11th! I'm so glad to hear that you liked it!!! It seems like there are lots of complaints about the size of it...but, the theme just really appeals to me so that's where I wanted to stay. I'm hoping it will make us feel like we are already in the Bahamas!!

Wow, that would be awsome to see a launch from our cruise!

cmcsharon...we really did enjoy CBR. We did pay extra and get in the preferred section so we wouldnt have to wall ALL OVER the place with my bad ankle. I really liked the bus stops, each group of buildings have their own covered bus stops with benches. . Its great because it never seems to be that busy. At the values you stand in line in the sun! We also thought it was the best theme (besides the Poly) for our cruise! Our room last time even had a picture of the Magic in St. Thomas!! It will be a perfect start to our cruise/bahamas vacation!!

84 days until we cruise!! :cool1:

Hey all
I am so excited about the possibility of a shuttle launch while we are there. What a way to start your cruise. As I am pulling my kids out of school it would be nice to have something educational to write about in the vacation journal. cmcsharon, keep us posted.
I have a cruise basket started in my room and its already overflowing. Two of my girls just had birthdays and received many cruise related items(bathing suits, coverups, visors, sunglasses, tinkerbell purses and hair do dads etc.)I've also been finding lots of fun stuff on sale. I got disney princess sequined sandals for 1.50 at kohls and glo-sticks for.25 at Target.
For some reason my computer won't let me use any icons. ugh... thats my favorite part. Any ideas?

ps were getting another 8 inches of snow tonight yuck!!!

I'm glad to hear that others have heard about the possiblity of a launch as well. If anyone gets any further info, please share with all of us!

Is anyone going to do anything fun & educational with their kids for missing school while on vacation? I have a 9 y/o ds, and would love to have something really fun, but eduactional, for him to be able to take back to school with him. Any ideas?

Wow...8 inches of snow!! It doesn't snow where we live so I wouldn't know what to do if we got 8 inches in one night!! :earseek:

I have a 9 y/o dd and an 11 y/o ds. Some of what we're planning is...hopefully the launch, that would be fantastic. We're also planning on touring Kennedy Space Center when we return to port on that Thursday (I think the excitement there will be pretty high with a successful shuttle launch so it'll be a fun time to go.). Other things I'm planning is that we're working on how to say Hello in all the languages at the World Showcase in Epcot, so my kids can get a picture at each country and write about how they were able to communicate. I also want to take them to the Straw Market at Nassau just to see how different the transactions are (haggling over the price, for lack of a better word). And...just on the cruise, having my kids talk with other kids about what State they're from and what's different about their school from ours (like snow days...that's just something we see on cartoons...do they really have them)! That kind of stuff.

That sounds great! We, too, are hoping for the launch! I think that would be really neat to be able to share with his classmates. I'm thinking maybe a journal of somekind. We are not going to wdw, we will just be cruisin', but we will be staying at Cocoa Beach the day before we leave. I hope I can find some really cool ideas of something for him to do, so that he can take this back to his school. Our other ds is 2, so I do not think we will be doing anything big for him. I was thinking about making an ABC book, with pictures of things with corresponding letters from the cruise. I think that would be alot of fun for him later.

I appreciate your response, & if anyone else has any ideas, that would be great!

Oh, a shuttle launch would be just AWESOME. Except for the extra traffic, lol.
I'm planning on having my girls (age 5 and 7) do journals. I'll take some workbooks (Dollar Tree has tons) to keep them busy on the plane. Other than that and some books to read, I'm not going to stress about projects too much. If there's a launch, I'll definitely make that an issue.

One thing your son could share is that this isn't just any launch. This is the Return to Space Mission for the Space Shuttle. It's the very first launch of a space shuttle since the Columbia tragedy over 2 years ago. If we do get to see the launch, I want to videotape my kids talking while we watch it...that would be something they could bring to school to demonstrate just how loud the launch actually is (I've heard it's amazing).

Hello, We will be going on our third Disney Cruise with all of you! There will be three families. The kids are older 14,13,11,11,10. I am really looking forward to it! We are staying at the Beach club before the Cruise. It would be great to see a shuttle Launch....What a way to start the cruise!! :flower:

Woo hoo!! Welcome to the cruise travelingtwin!! :cool1: Have you sailed on both the Wonder and the Magic on your three cruises?? You're an expert...you can tell us all the secrets!!

I've added you to our Cruise List

Everyone let me know if you want me to add more of your info to the list. And if you want, feel free to send me a picture of your group(even if its a few different pictures.) I think it would be neat to recognize people on the ship!!!
