4th of July-where were the crowds?

Historically, fourth of July and the proceeding weekend are packed at the park. Yet checking wait times on the 2nd and 4th via my mobile apps, and being there on the 3rd we found the crowds moderate. What gives? (Not complaining for sure just curious) I have my theories but want to hear yours!

We have gone over the 4th before and I don't remember it being that crowded.

We were there last year and had a fantastic time - same with Thanksgiving weekend *Thursday Friday and Saturday* the reason IMO being most APs are blocked and most "out of towners" think it'd be way too crowded.

For several years now folks on here say after July 4th "Where were the crowds? It is always crowded around July 4th". It just isn't the case anymore apparently.

We were thinking the same thing. We went the 2nd and 3rd, and found it sparse for a holiday weekend. I guess the blockout days do work!

This is what I was thinking, Trey. From what I recall, for at least 2 out of the last 3 years people have said that the actual holiday of July 4th was not crowded. In fact, there were some reports that DL was surprisingly empty in certain places, like below average crowds. Maybe next year's 4th will be a bit different (slightly more crowded) after CarsLand opens.
