Hi

I wondered if anyone had tried anything other than the parks on this particular holiday.

Putting our itinerary together and although we are staying on Disney property we thought it may be fun (or advisable?!) to try something different on the 4th?

Thanks,

pirate: (not exactly Johnny Depp is he?!!)

Hi DebUK

Glad you asked this question. We're planning to go next year over the 4th July and would like to know where is the best place to be on that day. Do the parks do anything special? We love the firework displays and would like to know where the best 4th July display is.

I shall watch this thread with interest to see what suggestions come up.

Hi Deb - long time no see! (I was the one who accidentally pinched your username many moons ago :o ).

We had initially booked to fly on 1 July this year, but for several reasons we've now changed the flights to 5 July. We had started to look into crowds and events, though and, whilst I was dreading it, dh was looking forward to being in the parks. Here are the links to a couple of threads I posted:

How busy is 4 July?

Schoolboy error!

Hi Deb :wave2: (I remember!!!- quite honesly I'm surprised I haven't been "struck off" it's been sooo long!;))

Thanks for those links - I have checked them out and am quite encouraged should we decide to go to the parks. We have no problem making an early start as it has always been our way!

I am looking forward to experiencing 4th July in the States - love all the patriotism they have there even without the holiday.

By the way - Deniseuk and Duggas - I have also posted this question on the US Disney Tips boards so keep an eye on that one too. I am really hoping someone may know of an alternative to the parks - there must be plenty going on all over the area on that day.

Debbie

We spent 4th of July 2002 in the MK. It was the Us first Independence Day since September 11th.

The MK was absolutely jam packed. It took us over an hour to get from Frontierland onto the Monorail. It was really nice to spend it in the park and I lost count of the amount of americans that came up to us and thanked us for visiting their country.

It was an experience but I don't think I would visit a park on this date again.

Just wanted to share my experience with you.
