4th of July - Epcot or Magic Kingdom?

I've never been to 4th of July at any WDW park as I've always had plans at home (usually a BBQ with fireworks being let off by kids), but this year is a change of plans.

Which park is the best for the 4th and why?

When we are there on the week of the 4th we do MK on the 3rd and Epcot on the 4th.

We did Epcot on the 4th two years ago & it was spectacular! We were also going to try to do MK on the 3rd - but it was way crowded that day & we didn't feel like fighting crowds at night too. It is supposed to be less crowded on the 3rd - but we thought it was kind of crowded

Epcot, on the other hand, wasn't that bad at all. It also helped that we had a Rose & Crown outdoor table for dinner & just hung out until Illuminations started. It was a great view for the extra fireworks over the American pavillion.

Epcot on the 4th. It's a special show, worth seeing. We made the mistake of staking out a spot in Germany, though, so we missed projections on the American Pavilion. If you go, find a spot where you can see them!

If you've never seen the 4th, then if you can handle the crowd I'd say MK. It's one of those things that you want to see once, but it is a madhouse. Since we've already done it, we now do Epcot. We were there last 4th of July. We got off FEA at 8:45pm and still found a great viewing spot on the bridge heading back toward FutureWorld (just past Mexico). So we waited all of 10 minutes, not packed in like sardines, and the show is spectacular. Oh, and we had the added benefit of being on the bridge, so once the show was over, we had a head start on the rest of the crowd leaving.

MK on the 3rd, and Epcot on the 4th. Last year we took a boat from Poly on the 3rd to see the fireworks. Sometimes MK just seems too crowded to us.
