4th of July cruise?

Getting ready to book our 7 day cruise. West Car. on7/3. Anyone know if they do anything for the 4th of July? My DS will turn 10 on the 4th and he is excited about the cruise, but wants to know if they have any fireworks. Does DCL do anything special for birthdays?

Join the club! If you check the list there are 6 or 7 groups going on that date, including my family with my sister's family and my parents!
If you tell DCL you are celebrating you can easily get a special cake at dinner. I'm sure others have information on other perks of having a DCL BDay.
I don't know about fireworks though--I know they shot off fireworks from the Wonder in Nassau all through July. But we will be in Key West, FL on the 4th and I don't know why they wouldn't have a special display.

we were on the july 4th wonder cruise last year....
i think they were planning something special for the sailaway party (on the 4th) but because of lightning, our party was indoors (bummer....totally cramped...no room....we left because we couldn't see a thing)...
however, during the course of the weekend they did lots of other 4th themed stuff....special performances by the characters, special buffet themes, a really great themed sailaway party in nassau, etc.......
i don't recall any fireworks, but we didn't miss them....

We will be on the same cruise and celebrating our DS's 16 birthday. When DH made our ressies, he mentioned the birthday, but we are still trying to figure out what to do for him......something that won't embarrass him too much



As for July 4th......Key West will be a great place to celebrate! I am sure there will be some kind of celebration.
